Veigar Build - is it just good or my enemies just bad?

OK, so... for some reason, every Veigar build I see is balls-to-the-wall damage in most previews I see, but I've had a lot of success with a very different build... and I was wondering if you guys think this build is actually good (and I should be recommending it to people) or if I'm just getting lucky and everyone around me doesn't know how to comprehend what I'm doing.

So, the start of the build is always as such:

item 1056 item 2003

Then, I always stay in lane long enough to afford.... item 3070. Yes, I build Tear of the Goddes every game as Veigar. The only situation I do something else, is if my enemy laner is feeding really hard and I see carry potential, in which case it's a toss up between Rod of Ages, or Morellonomicon.

But, continuing on with my normal build, I usually just let Tear do it's stacking thing in the background, which gives me plenty of mana. Now that my mana problems are solved, I start on my damage items:

item 3089 - for if I'm starting to hard-stomp after I decided to go Tear of the Goddess item 3165 - for if I'm against a champion that tends to heal a lot - I especially take this second if the enemy team has Warwick on it. -or- item 3157 - for if I'm having a lot of trouble, or need to deal with specific champions like Zed

If I haven't already bought it, then item 3089 is my next item.

But, then things get a little weird, because I always build the following item, that no one ever takes on Veigar...

item 3100

Now, allow me to explain myself. First off, Veigar doesn't tend to have a lot of multi-target damage. If you're lucky, you'll get people lined up for you to use your Q on, or multiple people will get stunned off your E, allowing you to hit multiple people with your W. But, other than that, you need a bit more dependable damage in the late game during teamfights. Because after you blow all your cooldowns, you don't deal crap for damage. But, if you effectively use Lich Bane, you can continue to spread your damage throughout the fight, and helps you keep the pressure on tanks as you cast your spells. Also, the next item I usually finish is building my fully stacked Tear of the Goddess into Archangel's Staff, which, as many people forget, gives you AP based on your maximum mana.

Now, by this point, the build typically looks something like this:

item 1001 item 3040 item 3165 item 3089 item 3100

At this point, with all of my stacks, my abilities deal crazy damage, and now so do a sizable chunk of my auto attacks. Not to mention, you can start taking down towers faster than Rift Herald, because of Lich Bane. I also tend to build this if my team a) won't group up, b) refuses to take objectives, or c) are getting hard-blocked at towers by champions with good wave clear, and we're having trouble getting any damage on towers.

After this point in the build, I usually swap out items depending on what we need. My boot selection is usually Sorcerer's Shoes, especially if I'm having trouble busting the tanks or if an enemy wants to do something to annoy me specifically and buy either Mercury's Treads or a Spirit Visage or something. But, if no one has any magic resist, or the magic resist they have is of little to no consequence, I'll usually get Boots of Swiftness.

For the last items, there are a few candidates:

item 3165 - for if I haven't built it yet and and their Marksman's Lifesteal is just getting a little out of hand item 3157 - again, if I haven't already built it, but also if the shield on Seraph's embrace just isn't cutting it or my front line is garbage item 3135 - In case I just want to start dealing near-true damage item 3001 - just in the case that I need a different kind of defense than what Zhonia's offers

But, yeah... whenever I look at a Viegar main's OP.gg, I never see a lot of the items that I use. I mean, it does kind of make a difference what runes I take, but none of them really feed into the build all that much...

I take Unsealed Spellbook for the versatility it provides and allowing me to take teleport in the early game, but barrier for later when I actually start fighting people, I take either Biscuit Delivery for sustain, or Perfect timing if I'm up against someone who deals more early damage than I can handle. Then, I usually take Future's Market and Cosmic Insight. Then, I'm convinced I need Manaflow band from the Sorcery Tree, so I take that and, usually, Transcendence.... just so you guys know. Maybe you could suggest a rune if you see one that I don't that would work better with this build specifically?

Either way, what do you guys think? Is this a decent build, or is this just a case of "anything works in bronze?"

It might just be my opinion but I feel like Veigar should never be in auto attack range of enemy champions at any point past laning phase and certainly not in team fights. It's the same reason I never take ignite on Veigar. Also if you aren't upgrading boots by mid game you are a sitting duck as Veigar, he's extremely slow and good enemies know how to work around his E and can still kill him if hes not got move speed to reposition in time.

Looks a lot like one of the builds Froggen used when he was spamming Veigar. Though I think he did tear, defensive item, mobies lichbane, deathcap, finish seraphs. It ramps up a little slowly for higher elo so it isn't great every game, but if you pick it in the right scenarios you have a really strong mid to late game build without being punished too much.

Best veigar build is veigar APC. item 3285 item 3003 item 3020 item 3089 item 3157 item 3135

40% cdr and easily 1500 ap full build. And you go botlane to cash in on stacking your passive off 2 idiots instead of 1.
