Jungle camp disparity (why is gromp/kruggs such a pain?)
I'm wondering what the logic is behind making kruggs so hard to kill when they're so far out of the way, and don't offer a proportional reward for the amount of effort/inconvenience it takes to kill them. I'm also wondering why gromp needs to be so goddamn tanky for the same reason - you don't get anything extra by killing it. At least not proportional to how difficult he is to kill.
Oftentimes when I'm jungling I'll purposely skip these two camps as often as possible unless there's literally nothing else to do (except on first clear obviously). I probably kill the enemy kruggs and the enemy gromp 4x as much as I kill my own.
What's the big idea? How hard would it be to reverse the wall kruggs sit behind so they're closer to red? maybe move it further down the wall to keep a similar proximity to bottom lane, maybe closer to tri brush. But at least put it on the same side as red. Its just so damn far out of the way - which would be fine if they were easier to kill, but the combination of distance and resilience just makes them a completely undesirable camp to farm. I've probably played games where I NEVER killed my own kruggs. I'd almost be willing to put money on the fact that this has happened.
The other issue I have with gromp is he turns around and re-targets way too damn fast. Every other monster can be kited to minimize damage, but not gromp. He's basically a laser-guided frog turret. He instantly faces you wherever you go. This is most notable when playing shaco and trying to proc backstab, which is nearly impossible until you get tier 2 boots. For this reason, I explicitly skip gromp on shaco more often than not.
even the raptors don't re-acquire you that fast - and they're tiny little things. You'd expect them to be agile. But nope, the gromp has them outclassed. It doesn't make sense.
The last thing I want to complain about is a bug that supposedly got fixed, but still rears its ugly head from time to time - and that is when you kill the kruggs and one of the little guys goes shooting over the other side of the wall, and you have to wait for him to mosey his way back to his camp - or skip him, losing out on 10-20 gold and a bit of experience. This was reportedly fixed a few patches ago, but I still see it happen.
And last but not least, a personal gripe that doesn't really require riots attention - more just something for me to say to add a bit of humor to this otherwise negative post - I swear to god I get outplayed by Scuttle Crab more than I get outplayed by any human player. That little shit's got skill.
