I am just wondering because I cant understand the videos that talk about jungling. how does jungling work? is the person to kill red/blu buff and then jump into a wave on enemy's? or is s/he supposed to repeat until some flaw happens?

I know this is probably a stupid discussion but I am still wondering..

Okay so your goal as the jungler is OBJECTIVES.... These objectives are: buffs(red, blue, dragon, rift, and baron) along with the smaller buffs(Razerbeaks, krugs, gromp, scuttle, etc). After this you monitor ALL THREE lanes for signs of struggling against laning opponent, being shoved or shoving, MIA middle, MIA top. Look for ways to pressure their team directly or indirectly. (EG: Enemy Jungler spotted top lane invade and clear his bot quadrant).

Boils down to:

  • Jungle buffs obtained/maintained-- pressured into giving up-- *Pressure denying Enemy jungler farm, exp---counter jungling--
  • Warding critical entrances and exits so laners feel safer *Helping struggling lanes *counter ganking---predicting the gank and being there-- *Setting up a fight--depending on champ--(finishing it otherwise) *peeling with hard cc, or denying damage from the other team *eliminating one of the carries or setting them up to be

In short... Jungle is the only role compromised on macro play at all times on the game. The point is to obtain objectives and push leads by doing whatever necessary to achieve that.

In reality there are more than one playstyle of jungling but the community, specially those that are foreign to jungling, focus on ganking and lane pressure which only a handful are proficient on it and the rest are playing a catch game. But in the more broad subject, jungling involves: -Control of vision, probably even more than support, since he has access at all parts of the map at all times -Control of own jungle xp, preventing counterjungling and forcing enemies tat wish to roam to do it on the long routes instead of cutting through your jungle.

  • Winning "lane" against opponent, like any other lane the objective is to come ahead of the enemy jungler, however this is done indirectly,by stealing XP from enemy camps, or pressure himon hsi own jungle to avoid map pressure on your lanes. -Control of camp objectives, Baron, Dragon, Herald, not directly taking them but keeping vision and stooping if the enemy jungler tries to take them. Usually is the junglers job to decide when to take this objectives but this community likes to take that decision by themselves, even if represents risky plays, so learn how to read those.
  • And Finally, lane presure, aka ganking, that is the last of the jungler job but like I said at the begginging, this comunity likes to think that is the main job/objective even though is the last one.

Jungle entails farming just like with any other role. Farm = getting ahead or keeping up in gold and experience. Jungle entails warding just like with any other role. Lanes ward to prevent ganks. Jungle wards for similar reasons, but also to prevent enemy counter jungle or to enable counter jungle against the enemy.

Objectives are often a team effort. If there is no map pressure then taking dragon and what have you becomes a severe risk. That means warding, map awareness, and team cooperation. You don't need allies present to take dragon. It is often enough for allies to keep their lane opponents occupied while farming safely and staying healthy enough to help prevent an enemy from roaming.

Then there is ganking. Killing enemy champions does not award a lot of exp. Assisting in an enemy champion kill does not award a lot of gold. Jungle camps collectively are more valuable in gold and exp than killing enemy champions.

The value of killing an enemy champion is not weighed in how much gold you obtain, but how much gold and experience you deny that enemy by removing them from lane. If an enemy is forced back then it's good enough and chasing them down under turret and unwarded terrain to try and kill them is counterproductive.

People will get upset at you if you don't gank. People will get upset at you if you do gank and your team gets no kill out of it. People will get upset at you if you gank and get the kill. People will get upset at you if you gank at an opportune moment while they're still farming. People will get upset at you if they ping for help, you offer it, and they still end up dying because they expect you to travel thousands of units from top to bottom and vice versa in an instant.

Ganks, however, are not the sole responsibility of the jungle. The jungle is a roaming farmer, but they are still a farmer like any other champion on the map. A gank is nothing more than a group fight and anyone can join in on one. Anyone can start one.

To expect constant ganks from the jungle is as ridiculous as mid expecting the bot lane ADC to stop farming five minutes into the game to come over and kill the enemy mid for them.

It is not a stupid topic but i am not sure what you are asking with some of your phrasing.

I would watch https://www.twitch.tv/nightblue3 or https://www.twitch.tv/iwilldominate for some basic understanding. NB3 also has you tube if you can not find there live streams. They are jungle mains

They both get a tad troll with picks and game play but just watching the early game will give you an idea of whats going on. They play on diamond to challenger accounts so do not expect your team mates to necessarily follow up any plays that you do.

You generally want to kill the jungle camps at the start of the game, they're worth a lot of gold and EXP which you'd lose out on if you simply killed a buff and went into a lane. All of the camps on your side of the map give you enough EXP to reach level 4 with a jungle item (item 1041 or item 1039 , both require summoner 11 ) . This effectively generates extra EXP for your top laner, they'll hit lv 2 off of 7 creeps rather than 9 and hit every subsequent level far quicker than in a duo lane.

As for pathing there's some good videos on jungle paths, I'd highly recommend this video by Stonewall008. While the majority of what he's saying isn't super applicable at low levels he outlines some jungle paths which you could easily follow to get a grip on jungling.

He also has a video on champions who he thinks are good for learning in the jungle which are more specifically aimed at entry level jungling which may help more but doesn't show off pathing quite as well.

a good habit is to take buffs first. i never do it. but its a good habit to generally. take blue or red and then go to the other one. before taking regular camps.
