If the next patch was nothing but damage NERFS to problematic champs, I might start playing Rift.

I'm honestly baffled how Riot can say things like "We know damage is too high and we are working on toning it down" and then completely pull a 180 and starting buffing champs and adding more damage into the game.

And what really gets me is that any nerf to a really problematic champion they do give is followed by a "Compensation" buff to some other part of their kit, completely defeating the point of a nerf in the first place.

I'm not calling out any specific champion here, but the high damage in this game has been a problem for a very, VERY long time now and it's just going completely ignored. I stopped playing Rift and ranked because I was sick and tired of being one-shot by literally everything in this game, The idea of someone going 0/5/0 in lane, then completely turning the tables around by buying 1 completed item is not a good feeling. How many champions have that one power spike item that lets them go from 0/10/0 to 25/10/0? quite a lot, to many to name.

I don't think that Riot understands that you can add more damage into the game WITHOUT increasing damage numbers.

Lower the cooldown on an ability? that's adding more damage. Increasing attack speed? also adding more damage. Nerfing armour and MR on an item or champion is still adding more damage.

A lot of the times in patch notes I see "skill cooldown decreased" or "Attack speed growth increased" and they think little things like that are healthy but they aren't. it's still more damage, the damage value might be the same but now it's more frequent. At this point, the buffs and nefs champions are getting seem really really REALLY personal, like someone on the balance team lost to that particular champion and wants revenge on them, or are mad because their champion they main got stomped so they push for buffs even though those champions affected don't need those changes in the first place.

Honestly, if they just sat down and took even 5 minutes to think about what they are actually changing in the game they might still be able to start slowly repairing the damage they have caused over several seasons. But right now they aren't even trying.

And that's frustrating

Another major source of damage is items, but in particular, first buys. Popular first buys item 3078 item 3285 item 3147 item 3146 item 3152 item 3153 and the old item 3095 all have/had passives which add damage to a champions kit.

A lot of these first buys didn't exist a few years ago or were less popular.

And let's not forget item 3161. You have to wonder in what way is the passive on this item remotely balanced?

This alongside the excessive amount of offensive and snowballing stats in the runes makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.

Buffs to individual champions damage isn't damage creep, because those have always existed in the game. You'll find that a lot of champions base damages are the same as they were years ago, with a margin of + or - 20 on average. Damage Creep is a result of systematic damage that is applicable to everything, such as runes and stats, or particularly for champion design (see: Zoe).

You're not going to solve damage creep by just nerfing peoples damage numbers in their kits. You handle it via items, runes, systematic damage, etc.

Like what they did to urgot. From a cancerous juggernaut with shield and execute he became a cancerous sniper with a smaller shield and a long ass range execute. They always miss the point

And 10 years later you still lose LP because your team was trash and riot doesn't even try fixing this.

Or instead of nerfing problematic adcs lets buff 3 adcs a patch as if we didnt mass nerf adcs twice for doing the same thing (but they got compensation with each mass nerf and both mass nerfs got mass reverts without any of the compensation taken away

Well, I recently keep getting popped by behind Vel'Koz supports. I mean, me snowballing, going in 2v3 with a teammate, killing the fed enemy and then the carry who's also behind just to have a 1/6/2 Vel'Koz support with a 2 item disadvantage deal 70% of my health from miles away within 2 seconds really makes me feel like there's a problem.

I don't know how BorK has just flown under the radar of items that need serious nerfs.

First AD Neeko, now TF's making use of BoRK and other attack speed on hit garbage to mow down people within a stun. Grasp TF with BoRK and other AS-on hit items is just dumb. You essentially have tanky ADC's with CC on top.

the problem is... riot doesnt even know what "problematic champs" are.
