Tried coming back to this game.....
Well I just got this account to 30. I won’t lie my original account got banned for being toxic. I don’t agree with all the rules, but I also understand if I want to play I must follow them. Last season I finished the season 6 plat primarily playing jungle. After being banned I took a long break from the game and decided to give it another shot.
I leveled to 30 without being toxic. Made it through about 8 ranked games before I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was told to kill myself about 900 times, called trash, or was told they hope my parents get cancer or I do. This doesn’t even include the AFKs or people intentionally trolling. Yes, I mean real trolls not just bad players. I mean this was honestly EVERY game and it didn’t matter if we were winning or losing. We could be up 30 kills and you would have people arguing about who was carrying harder.
A few of the big streamers are also total flamers and everyone knows it. For instance, Iwilldominate or tarzaned. These guys flame almost nonstop live on steam. Tarzaned has been banned a few times and he acts proud of it, yet he is still allowed to make new accounts and keep playing. Tarzaned constantly calls people virgins and all sorts of other names. Iwilldominate seems like a textbook narcissist. Many people watch these guys flame all day and then try to emulate them especially their younger fans. It’s like everywhere you go in this game it seems like someone has some type of mental disorder and I don’t mean that in an insulting way.
The conclusion that I came to was this game is now mainly marketed towards little kids and most of the reasonable adults have left. Most people aren’t willing to learn and all think they are LCS pros or going to make it to the LCS. I could go into specific examples of the stuff I witnessed, but I’m sure you have all seen it 100 times. Even the gameplay itself seems to be targeted towards little kids. Huge amounts of damage with flashy plays on high mobility champs.
Other problems with this game include horrid matchmaking, many people seem to have super laggy connections and spam link their ping in chat as they int feed and scream “WTF LAG” over and over. Some of those people may just have problems on their end, but its way to prevalent for it to not have anything to do with Riot’s end. Balance seems to get worse and worse. You have some champs who are just beyond broken such as Graves, Ahri, and Shaco. Takes forever for Riot to nerf the broken champs and when they do they usually gut them and make them unplayable for 2 years until they decide to rework said champion. Ahri is an exception to the rule though because she has flashy plays with high mobility and high damage so she is okay apparently. Must have those 1337 LCS plays.
I’m sure this post will get down voted to hell but I just needed to let it out before I finally give up on this game that I have been playing for years. The game is just simply not enjoyable anymore and doesn’t have enough positives to outweigh the negatives. Time to hang up the gloves.
TLDR: Terrible for new players trying to learn the game, games more toxic than ever, matchmaking sucks, super unbalanced, way too much damage, everyone is an LCS pro, streamers get special privileges to flame, most vets or mature players have already left or are leaving.
