I have figured out how to win every game

BarryMcocnier·6/7/2017, 6:45:10 AM·75 votes·24,065 views

The trick is very simple, it is to not die. I know that might sound very sarcastic, but its the truth.

I am currently in the bronze division, and I watched some of my replays to help improve, and I noticed how many times we simply fight for absolutely NO REASON. Even after we fight and one of the teams have been aced, we simply go back to base and get more items. For what? We already killed them? Why do we have to prove we can do it (or worse NOT do it) again?

I have watched some higher elo games and in some games they dont get first blood until 20 minutes in. 20 MINUTES IN A GAME FOR ONE KILL. After 20 minutes in a bronze game its 49 to 54 and the jungler hasn't even looked at a single drag.

So I started paying attention and choosing battles when they are in my favor, and believe it or not I win more fights than i lose. Even when I am in a lane where I have been counter picked, as long as I don't feed the enemy and let them snowball, I AM WINNING MY LANE (of course cs is important too).

So when you look top and notice the 0/9 darius on your team, you simply can't stop the 9/0 renekton coming for you. What makes this Darius think "man, next time i will get him for sure"? It is very hard to solo carry when others cant understand that not dying, is just as important as getting kills.

Oh please.

"Die less" sure, that's a decent metric.

But the reasons you die are usually a mystery to the majority of the playerbase.

The Darius? He probably wasn't trying to all in and kill the 5/0 renekton. He probably just stepped forward to Q the wave and got all inned, or he underestimated the total dash range of E->E Renekton, and got all inned.

Honestly the vast majority of players in bronze wouldn't be bronze if they just gave the slightest respect to their lane opponents range of efficacy and actually learned to last hit worth a damn.

Sigh... was hoping to not have to post here...

The only way to win EVERY GAME is...

Destroy enemy nexus.

Hope this helps.

Uh, why do you all back when you ace them? I saw this when I was in Silver everyone backs to get items. Why? They're all dead. Take a turret. Take Herald. Take Dragon. Do ANYTHING but go back to base when the map is completely clear of all threats.

It's not necessarily not dying, it's dying over nothing that should be avoided. Being afraid to die is just bad as dying too often, I've seen a lot of people that think they are better than someone else over lower death counts when they wouldn't commit to a play that required them to die and as a result contributed little while sacrificing everyone else. You have to be able to be in the middle, not dying trying to 1v1 someone you can't, or when you know you're being camped, but don't be afraid to die to allow your team to actually gain an advantage or even end the game.

TheOvermind6/7/2017, 2:21:48 PM9 votes

The most ridiculous ones are the ones where you take both their inhibs and then they stick around as the enemy team is about to respawn. Like what are you hoping to accomplish there?? There is nothing more to do ? you are basically asking to die. Just back, wait for your CDs to come up, replenish lost hp and mana, and baron , because it's free. Then push to win.

I've actually mentioned this to my friends and yeah it's improved my gameplay. A big "step to awakening" in league is realizing THIS GAME IS NOT AN FPS WHERE YOU WIN BY RUSHING KILLS!!!!! So many people play this like it's COD or Halo and the first to hit 50 kills wins. You wanna play that way hit up FGM's that do it when they are out.

The 3 things I feel someone has to learn before they can truly start improving in league would be: This is a team game and very few can 1 man army their way through it, cooperate. Don't fight uselessly. Fight only when you think you can win it PUSH AS HARD AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN WHEN YOU KILL ACE THE ENEMIES!

(Side note to that last one, also learn to watch death timers/mini map while pushing at any points in game. I haaaate when a bot lane thats under 100 hp gets all toxic cause they killed their laners and while at tower got ganked. Thats a thing thats taught via experience more than instruction tho)

Oh, I thought the solution was "Join the Enemy team".

Most common causes of death, the bronze edition:

  1. Stop overextending for CS and objectives. If you're alone, and you don't know where the enemy team is, you're overextended. Stay behind your active wards. Move with groups to establish more vision. When doing the latter, try to creep up behind your minion wave, as this also gives you vision.

  2. Stop hard pushing without flash, unless 1) the enemy doesn't have flash or you know you win an all in, 2) you know where every member of the enemy team is, including the jungler.

  3. Stop treating your tower as if it makes you immortal. If you know you're about to get three man dived, ping for help and back off until help arrives. Sometimes, this means straight up sacrificing your tower. That sucks, but it's better than giving up your tower and your life.

  4. Stop trying to contest objectives you can't actually contest. I'm looking at you, dragons. You're not going to successfully contest a dragon 3v5, so give it up and try to take an objective elsewhere. There's no point in three of you dying for a failed attempt on an ocean drake. (Caveat: if your jungler wants to suicide steal while you do this, that's acceptable.) 4a. Also stop trying to contest objectives when you're way behind. If it's 20-40, you're not going to successfully fight for that air drake. Stop it, give it up. Again, have your jungler attempt a solo steal while you trade the drake for pressure and objectives.

  5. Stop trying to fight without the rest of your team. You're not going to win a 4v5. If your idiot teammate gets caught out and dies, don't chase after and try to avenge him in a blaze of scornful glory. It's not going to work. You're all going to die. Fall back and regroup until your teammate respawns.

  6. Stop trying to save idiot teammates. Unless you're damned well sure you can save your mid laner, or unless they're way more valuable than the rest of your team, don't sacrifice yourself to save them when they do something stupid. Odds are, both of you will just die.

  7. Stop overstaying after securing an objective. If you've got the tower, the inhibitor, whatever, and you're all low on health/cooldowns or have a ton of gold to spend, back, reset, and prepare for the next push. Don't stay. You're only giving your opponent an opportunity to get back into the game by fighting you at your weakest.

  8. Stop fighting when you've a ton of gold on you. Even if you're ahead, you're only giving your opponent the chance to get back into the game with a crucial shutdown. Don't do that. Stop it. Stop getting greedy. Cash out and come to the next fight even stronger.

  9. Stop chasing deep into unknown territory, unless you're 100% sure where every member of the enemy team is. Odds are, that guy you're chasing is running toward his nearest teammate. If you don't know where you're going, stop chasing. You're essentially overextending.

All right, that's all I can think of off-hand. Any more?

But you have to take objectives sometime, or you loose anyway. It's not a deathmatch.

Reaper Soraka6/8/2017, 5:43:54 AM4 votes

The concept of the game is very simple. Kill the enemy nexus. To kill the enemy nexus, you must destroy towers. To make destroying towers easier, you need to open up an opportunity to destroy them. Killing enemy champions opens up the opportunity, as they're the real reason the tower stays alive. They too have a brain.

So to summarize: killing enemy champions isn't for gold or glory, it's for opportunity. It opens up windows of weakness on objectives.

When you dance outside the enemy nexus after they've been aced, you're really just wasting opportunity. People have literally lost games because they could've attacked the nexus, but chose to dance outside the enemy fountain.

If everyone understood this, bronze and silver would be a hell of a lot harder for gold/plat to climb out of. Hell, a lot of them wouldn't be able to anymore.

To edit in: it does go both ways. Sometimes you're the one that is beat. You can't open up that opportunity to take something, You can still prevent them from opportunities of their own.

Most people feel like they have to throw the first punch. Let them throw the first punch, they will, because just as impatient as you are, they are too. Knowing they will, anticipate it and counter.

Bladeƒire6/7/2017, 5:14:47 PM3 votes

That's why I always tell my friends, as soon as you die first in lane, NEVER pick a fight unless the jungled ganks

Toru Itai6/8/2017, 12:47:20 PM2 votes

QQ I remember when the first 20 minutes of the game where filled with peacefull farming.

{quoted} I noticed how many times we simply fight for absolutely NO REASON.

I'm in low elo, and I just played a Normal game the other day where we did this a lot. It was kind of stupid, but it was a lot of fun.

FlameHalbrdOkido6/7/2017, 5:27:24 PM2 votes

This. I need this guy on my team

Honestly in all the games I play no matter what champ or role. All I wanna do is farm until I got like 2-3 items

This goes the same with dota 2 but in dota 2 if you die you lose gold also . I know we all have killing intent in our lane but we need to control it .

Noblewind6/8/2017, 5:07:25 AM2 votes

From my experience the most consistent way to win bronze is to bring CC and/or tankiness to your team. If you can reliably disrupt the enemy's non-stop brainless all-ins where they ult/cast on the first thing they see, you win

When I first started playing this game, I decided that I would always play safe, so that my friends who introduced me to this game don't hate playing with me. Literally all I cared about was not dying, didn't care about losing CS, about getting kills, nothing. Just don't die. And it worked, and still does, which is why I main Gangplank
