Sona is a terrible support, a support that scales in the same fashion that a adc does great idea...says no one...it's just not needed

if Sona is to be the way she is now, make her a mid lane champion, if she is supposed to be a support make her better early but taper off late...supports that scale is the dumbest thing you ever conceived it just wont work

e.g look at everything you did to Karma, choose one or the other...Sona relives the Karma nightmare for whatever reason (lazy riot balancing)* I really don't want to have to redo this champions effects + ultimate skin so lets just keep her the same and outdated forever)

Are you kidding? Sona is SO good early. She pokes so hard and since her Q hits multiple targets it disincentivizes the enemy to gang up on her. They have to take turns eating the poke and trading back for lesser damage until her Q damage falls off... which is quite a while if you let her max Q by not needing any healing or peels.

She's still a strong pick, but people don't notice her even when she's literally the most effective champ in the game (WR).

No, there is no redeeming this dumpster fire of a kit. Urf mode Sona was a shit idea that should have never left the head of the drunken Ritoer that thought it up. A "scaling" support is counter intuitive to game design. Supports need to be strong early. If you allow them to scale in addition to this, you end up with Thresh or Senna, 2 of the most broken designs this game has ever seen.

Mid lane is a no-go too. Rito explicitly does not allow enchanters to exist outside of support. This is because Rito encourages diversity. Oh wait, that's literally the EXACT OPPOSITE of encouraging diversity... No matter. Either way, she'll never be allowed in mid lane.

Additionally, Meddler has openly said reworks loses Rito customers. So they're hesitant rework champs. As such, the correct solution to this disaster is also the most simple and easiest to implement: Revert Sona back to her original pre-4.13 kit.

i agree she is a terrible support. she is probably one of my least favorite, her and yuumi are basically the same and they are shit tier imo. I don't actually enjoy having either of them support me; sona's almost always are out of position or spam healing when i'm already at like 90% hp which ofc makes them run out of mana which makes me have to 1 v 2

Yuumi is almost exactly the same except they attach which tilts me cause they will just afk and heal me here and there and then just like sona they will go oom because they keep healing me when i'm at like 90% and most of their R's are similar to the sona players, they often cast it as a reaction to someone else rather then them making the enemy react with their initiation

I'll tell you what tho, 1 support that I do enjoy (even the semi-average) is Nami, if you are looking for a similar support to sona or yuumi i would say to anyone ditch sona or yuumi and just get the mermaid fish lady as your main she is WAY better

I admit I was confused by the idea that anyone could possibly think solo lane Sona needs more damage until I saw that your last ~40 consecutive games were Dark Harvest Lich Bane Sona.

I enjoy having her lmao. Picking her with an adc like Ezreal or MF gives you a lot of reliable burst damage in a short window which can singlehandedly win lane if played correctly
