I recently played my promos for flex with the same person. I played all 10 with him. I am a support main. We went 5/5. He got silver 3.....I got bronze 1. How is that remotely fair. Id be okay with one or to levels below but 4?!?!
Easy explanation: You were unranked last season, "Weeb Sensei" (the guy you duo'ed with) was Gold 2 last season.
The system that determines your rank doesn't do a hard reset aka makes everybody play from the same MMR. It's always a soft reset where the rank you got last season and the rank you had in preseason is taken into account.
Placements should go away. They are just 10 wasted games of my life for each ranked version.
