Question about pushing out lanes
The last game I played I tried something new. I've been working on looking at the map every few seconds, and when I saw that an enemy wave was close to our side of the game (something I could go kill safely) I would go and push out that said wave. I'd never tried this strategy before, mostly just occasionally running blindly to a lane to clear it, fighting for cs with someone else that argued to go get that wave. But this gave me a question. It was a 45 or so minutes game, and while I ended up with around 300 cs in a game like this (not even that!) The game i went to push out waves, I got 423. I know the whole "challengers get 10 per minute" thing, but I have another question. I was missing out on a few fights and battles with my teammates, all if them fighting top while I split not, and I was playing add that game, Jhin at that, so it's not like a damage dealer like that can simply not participate. My map awareness was "Good" as I kept looking at the map, Knowing when to back off, etc. I did get a tower doing this, but I had noticed a xayah participate more than me, and wind up with 460 cs. I did participate, but I noticed things and fights going well when I was in them. So I guess my question is this. Tl;dr - when is it an appropriate time to push out a wave so you can get the cs in the wave, but not miss out on a fight or contest of a objective, but still maximize vs?
I apologize this was such a long post, I was simply curious. This seems very strong of a strategy, but I want to do good. I got great cs after all! (For once, lol)
