Afk punishment/leaver buster reset?

I remember a few months ago, I was terrified to play league as I had to afk in multiple games(chores, family issues and such) and I only just now recently realized that it went down from a 25 min wait time to a 5 min wait time(I had to ban a champ, and I was looking at something else and didn't hear the audio) does the punishment reset every month orr? (i'm not sure if this is the right board, I will be reading up on the rules again soon)
