curiosity about the placement system (minor rant)

i ended season 5 in Silver V. i ended preseason in Bronze II (took a bit of time to adjust to the new patch) i went 7-3 in provisionals with a 6 game win streak. (W-L-W-W-W-W-W-W-L-L) I GOT PLACED IN BRONZE V. PLEASE tell me how this makes ANY logical sense. should it not be that when you are playing games against prospective MMR's of varying degrees and maintain a positive record you should be placed HIGHER than your seeding? i understand that my seeding wasn't that great, but to be placed Bronze V with a 7-3 seems like utter bullshit to me. is there any way that a member of the Riot staff can explain this to me?

They are essentially dropping everyone, with the assumption that it should be easy to climb back where you were.

The math was something like your previous MMR plus 1200 divided by 2.

Basically placements don't matter.
