Silver Elo - how to shut down a fed adc in an adc meta
Renekton vs darius is a skill based matchup. Dodge the outer part of darius q, get good short trades on him so he can't utilize his passive, and only fight when your abilities are available. Do this, and renekton should win every time. Conversely, darius wants to hit his q, prolong fights, proc his passive, and delete renekton. Darius also has scaling on his side. Credit where credit is due right at the start - for silver elo (none of us are "good") - the darius was actually pretty good; he just got no help from team. *I'm going to use vid timers rather than game timers for points to note, so it's easier to find them. 10sec - give twitch a very good leash because he insists on lvl 2 ganking top. Act natural to bait darius forwards - since he was in lane before me, he is pushing the wave. Note the aa+q combo I do on renekton to maximize dps. Twitch flanks darius - attacking from beside and slightly behind him to minimize his chance of getting away. He tries to hide in a bush, but it's too late. He flashes when he is clearly already dead - a typical low elo mistake we all make sometimes.
16 - it's close to 3 min, my jungler has left to go farm, and the enemy jungler should have cleared at least 3 camps and be set to gank top if he wants. The wave is by the enemy tower and pushing into him. I am very vulnerable here. I must use slice-n-dice only to hard push the lane and force darius under tower or hold it for escapes. I cannot get all the minions due to creep block and fear of darius pulling me under tower. Not that he would kill me, but he'd do enough damage and slow me that any gank by kha would kill me. Instead he went mid and caught an overextended low hp lux who didn't have topside warded or hug bot side of midlane. But lux gets a nice trade kill thanks to tower and blowing both summoners.
00 - I WALK back top even though I have tp. Why? Wave is pushing to me but won't hit tower before I get there, so I won't lose much cs for walking. I save tp to make a play bot or mid if needed. And I can also play super agro and take bad trades vs darius to get him low, then tp back to lane full hp while he can't since he's already used it. I should have let the wave hit my tower and reset, but I'm greedy, want to freeze it, but tank too much damage. Darius returns to lane with hp advantage, gets off the ideal damage trade, and forces me to farm under tower.
30 - I've pushed to his tower, but I have no vision of enemy jungle or top. I don't do much damage to tower at this point in game, so it's better to roam and create "map pressure". This nets me a control ward. I see syndra is pushing up - since I have fury and flash, I can make a kill with lux, but syndra backs off as I run mid. This means there is a ward in river or brush by river. One more control ward to me to kill. I clear scuttle because at this point it doesn't cost me much cs and it gives nice vision. Twitch comes top again since darius is fully pushed up. If not for that, I'd have taken safer route to my tower to farm the wave, but if I'm getting a gank, this is the better route to cut off darius's escape. And... kha just q+aa to kill twitch. Darius overchases to kill me though and tanks a tower shot. This nets a reply kill for our team.
00 - trist isn't going to kill sona there. It's obvious. But she could have stepped in front of cait ult and saved her support. Overchasing a kill and either getting yourself killed or your teammate killed is too common in bot lane in bronze-gold; trust me, I used to main support for 2+ seasons.
30 - lux really wants to clear the enemy ward and protect her control ward, but it's 1v2 vs a SYNDRA and a KHA'ZIX. She makes the right call and backs off.
00 - lux, you made a good decision earlier. Why are you trying to 2v4 now? You can't win that even if they are low.
20 - i clear one more wave top because this either denies the enemy xp and gold OR forces kha to stay top longer - giving my team the chance to play agro 1v1 or 2v2. Bot is feeding at this point - partially due to kha ganks, but not entirely. There hasn't been many good tp chances for me to go there. Lux tries to use her lead to help them and stall the fed enemy bot.
00 - twitch and I got top tower. We can either herald, or rotate and try to defend mid. Defending mid would potentially put us in a 2v4 vs a very fed bot and jg. I then see the chance for a good flank on the 4 man enemy group pushing our mid tier 2. Lux and I collapse to pincer them between us and our tower. I want to avoid cait traps and syndra stuns so I can get off the best possible engage. We nearly kill 2 despite them being fed. While no kills, this does give us some temporary advantage due to having more hp than their team. Dragon will be up soon, so the best bet is to ward up their jg and bot river, push in lanes, and get everyone set to fight around dragon. Lux wanted bot tower though. Because we were split in decision and people didn't commit to dragon, we don't get either.
50 - did I overstay top? Yes. Was I aware I was going to be 1v2 or 1v3? Yes. I honestly thought I could escape or buy a bit more time. If I hadn't burned e, I would have actually lived there. Just me being stupid... again. Luckily, trist has finally learned and backs off mid before she gets 4-manned. Don't do it twitch; 1v4 bad.
00 - it's obvious the enemy wants to rotate and 5 man top. Look for ambushes (hi darius) in our tri-brush. Team engages, gets a nice pick, but then walks through choke point and gets blown up by enemy team. But then lux lands a nice binding, I follow up with flash stun, and we can pop their fed cait who is most of their damage.
40 - twitch is bot clearing a wave that I could easily clear before it reached our tower. They aren't pushing bot, so they could easily set up and force a 5 man baron while our team is trying to rotate there or obliviously farming lanes and jungle. When baron is up, let your toplaner with TP push bot. Rest of team needs to 4 man rotate between mid and top to keep them pushed out. This will give vision of enemy team, potentially let me 1v0 grab towers bot, give me tp opportunities, and let us rush baron if they send multiple people bot to stop me. Speaking of which - sona overextends on our team mid. Seeing this, I roam mid to let team safely engage the fight - knowing they have backup on the way and can chase.
20 - what is soraka doing in our bot jungle alone? There is literally no need to be there. 4 man push mid and top out. Let me push bot. Shoving out the waves gets us vision of the enemy team. And we need wards in top/red jungle and around baron - not in our blue jungle. I can take care of warding bot jungle as needed since I'm the one covering that lane. Didn't I just say we need 4 people mid so we can prevent them rushing baron? They do it so fast my team can't rotate in time to easily steal or kill them for it, so I have to tp to baron and stall for team. Thanks to a flash stun by me onto cait, trist lives (for awhile) and we win the fight. Soraka should then go MID with lux and 2v1 push mid with baron buff while I solo push top. Instead she trolls and follows me. Normally I would back right here, but the enemy had to recall, there's a giant wave top to baron empower, and I have vision in top jg. Because of this, I decide to push tower until I see someone come.
10 - wow, 1 cait auto does 50% of trist's life. Adc's are so balanced lol.
40 - the enemy clusters as 5 around dragon. Syndra already used stun. Our team stays spread to prevent a good sona ult. This let's me engage and lock down the fed cait for our team - allowing lux and trist to try to blow her up before cait does serious damage. Failure to kill her asap would mean a lost teamfight. We trade even in the fight, but I can flank sona to cut off her escape as lux chases her. Alas, she is too fast and lux misses q.
00 - steal the enemy red while they clear lanes, then sneak a cloud dragon since we can. A skirmish breaks out. While we are 3v4 at first, my team kites nicely, and soraka silence plus my burst essentially forced kha out of the fight right away. Trist rotates and thanks to some expert baiting by the two of us plus our split teammates turning around to reengage at the perfect time, we wipe the floor with the enemy. This nets us 3 towers and an inhib. We lose 2 on the way out, but mostly my team didn't overstay as much as is typical. The enemy COULD rush baron on spawn, so I ask twitch to ward; he gets scuttle crab. Lux clears bot to prevent any sneaky pushes onto our own inhib tower. I would have cleared bot since tp and baron rush scenarios, but lux was a bit low to hold mid alone while I was full hp and better situated to hold mid and distract the enemy from any baron rush.
00 - twitch ambushes and deletes cait. I tp as backup. We are then in a 2v3 since darius is top (I count kha coming mid). We could - I feel - have deleted sona if twitch committed, but he didn't want to risk. I felt not getting more was a waste of my tp and end up dying trying make a play. This basically gives the enemy a free baron. Sure we could 4 man contest it, but we have no one to facecheck the enemy since I'm dead. Lux should just stay pushing bot and get inner tower.
00 - keep wasting their baron buff making them defend top. We blow several flashes and sona ult at cost of only soraka flash. Meanwhile, lux pushes bot and superminions push mid. Typical low elo players would have run mid with our superminions to try to end the game. Smarter people in such a scenario do as we do - forcing the enemy to CHOOSE between stopping us getting MORE inhibs in side lanes OR stopping the superminions mid. Fighting in a lane where you've already killed the inhib (if there are inhibs and inhib towers left to kill) is USUALLY one of the worst things you can do. It lets the enemy kill 2 birds with 1 stone: stopping your push/winning a teamfight, clearing superminions to protect their base.
00 - lux and twitch force a fight at elder drag and pick up a kill. Cait and sona do grab mid inhib tower, but can't do much more. Meanwhile, I'm pushing top inhib tower. Alas, cait comes and makes it a 3v1. If not for that, I kill sona and easily escape. I still would have escaped, but cait trap into sona ult is too much cc. Still, this pulled 3 people top - allowing my team to get elder drag for free. That's intelligent risky play rather than stupid risky overextension by me and good awareness by my team to exploit 3 enemies top to get more across the map.
00 - and then they walk knowingly into a 4v5 without a frontline. Cait and kha basically 2-shot anyone besides me. And we essentially get aced and lose elder dragon buff just to take an inner tower. Excellent execution by enemy team - they must have taken notes from our flank engages on them earlier. I go to stall out push mid - knowing I can't put myself 1v3 to defend bot inhib tower. A nice combo of quick decisions by twitch, trist and raka (ult to save adc) gets us a pick on cait.
00 - lux wants to force baron. This is a BAD BAD BAD call for several reasons. 1. We aren't ahead, so we can't start it and force them to commit to stopping us. 2. The enemy has superminions pushing mid and a wave building up top that we have to clear. This means they can stall our baron with half hearted attacks by 3 and let cait and sona push mid with supers to end the game while their team stops us from recalling. 3. We have a 2nd open inhib bot - the enemy can rush that to have 2 lanes of superminions pushing our base. They then 5 man top and get a 5v3 at worst to take our 3rd inhib while 2 of our people try to clear superminions bot and mid. Best case scenario, we defend 3rd inhib tower, but completely waste baron buff. Then it's 2 open inhibs vs 1. Basically, we come out behind. The correct response? Clear top, get that pushing in, keep mid pushed past river to prevent them rushing baron. Let our wave bot build up so it takes a tower for free.
00 - enemy picks off lux for making a bad rotation. They then correctly force baron. Because they'd shoved in mid wave, they can finish baron before we can rotate to contest. Twitch attempts to flank enemy when they push down mid, but calls it off when i ping no. I want to finish my item for the coming fight. Having an extra life ensures they can't 5 man focus and delete me. This allows me to go in when I otherwise couldn't. We lose 2 inhibs and the enemy looks to push top and make picks in our jungle. Lux ignores our pings, doesn't respect this, and dies. Twitch tries to trade back on cait, but can't do so alone. This leaves trist, soraka, and I to 3v5 defend against 5 baron buffed enemies and 2 lanes of superminions. Trist makes some nice jump plays, but ultimately dies to kha since I didn't have stun available and was stunned by sona ult. We do however stop their push.
00 - randomly started teamfight goes back and forth until we come out ahead. We need some minion pressure, so trist and I go straight for mid inhib - clearing as many minions as we can along the way. No reason or time to wait for our minions to catch up; if we wait that long, the enemy will be alive again. We get mid, then LEAVE before we do something stupid and die 3v5. Now we could either push top or bot, but should stay as 5. Since our open inhib is bot and elder drag is going to spawn soon, bot is the best call. I tank the enemy's initial damage until my team can get set up. Thanks to ga, I can keep going in knowing I will revive in the middle of their team and force them to deal with me. This means sona ult is wasted on just me and raka - as well as that twitch gets optimal dps out of his ult. We pick up 4 kills - despite lux being way late to the fight - because of my team's solid positioning and because I had ga. Then you gotta toss in the troll deathcap to finish my build and tp in to kill the nexus.
