Why is riot as harsh as it is on trash talk but not actual trolling

On an alt account I have intentionally fed 15+kill games probably well over 5 times and have never been punished ever, but I got banned for 14 days on this account after 1 game where I talked shit because I was being trolled, why do the trolls win in riots ban system?

chat is easier to detect

feeding just looks like youre having bad games or a bad day

gabetheguy12/2/2017, 3:28:01 AM10 votes

because riot doesn't give 2 shits about making the game better. they care about making it look better.

LadyRenly12/2/2017, 3:22:50 AM9 votes

its easier to be caught, i mean you leave a trail for being toxic

Chat is easier to parse and apply algorithms to since it's just a text corpus.

Actual trolling, it's harder to make algorithms for that.

I guess the point I am trying to make is how is it fair to ban a player for 14 days for what happened in 1 game? Everyone has had a bad game where they flip the fuck out because they have bottled up shit to say, because you are not allowed to say anything on this game without being reported, I think punishment for 1 incident to be as long as 14 days is fucking bullshit, but that's just my personal opinion I guess.

I know I will probably get a bunch of backlash for this and a bunch of sheep will come and say "you're toxic" or some other shit that has been regurgitated 1000 times on these boards, but the reality is everyone has a bad game, everyone flames sometimes, everyone gets upset, if you have ever been trolled as hard as I have and not wanted to flame then kudos to you, but I play this game to have fun and when someone deliberately goes out of their way to ruin the next 20 minutes of my life I am going to get pissed off

end rant

because rioters are a bunch of sjws and care more about peoples item 3070 feewingsitem 3070 rather than actual trash that go out of their way to troll and intentionally ruin peoples games to make them lose lp or just to be an asshole

Instigators always win.

Sasogwa12/2/2017, 2:18:37 PM1 votes

Cause it's hard to tell if feeding is intentional, easy to tell if you're toxic. Sometimes people are 0/15 yet actually trying to win, and not toxic. And Riot does not have time to actually record every game where there is an "intentional feeding" call and check whether it's true. But the report feature for intent. feeding should probably do something if several people use it on someone who did it. Try to have the most people reporting for int a guy that really did int

Can confirm, I've NEVER got an alert from the system saying that someone i reported got punished when in the case of me reporting someone for harassing people with in-game trolling, ping abuse to harass teammates, or death timer abuse to harass teammates, or really even spamming someone's item purchases to berate them for building wrong.

But god forbid I get trolled by a duo in Treeline and argue back with them, and get punished for that ONE game of bad chat behavior of retaliation, even though the majority of my games I am very positive or neutral.

Riot's punishment system is so heavily focused on chat-based flaming but ignores other forms of flaming.

Hell, I've even reported players for telling others to kill themselves, making race-based jokes, homophobic slurs, and no feedback on whether the person was punished or not.

But hey, it's more important to not argue with people than it is to not make personal threats, not spew hate speech, not demean others. I honestly think Riot's formula is to check a chat log flagged by a report, and just count the number of lines that the offending player has typed out in game. If they are "spamming" chat, the system deals out a punishment, but if the amount of chat entries they put out are at a minimum, no matter how toxic that minimal amount is, no punishment is dealt.

Well, for starters if you deliberately troll that hard, on an alt account or not, you are a toxic player that should be banned so good job Riot. But as far as why weren't you punished. A couple reasons. 1 people have to report you and 2 it is pretty hard to prove intentional feeding outside of you typing into chat you are going to intentionally feed. If you trash talk there is a record. A very visible record. In trash talking you piss off the people you trash talk to and everyone that saw your chat most likely so you get many more reports. Supposedly 3 triggers tribunal. Personally every time I have been asked to do a tribunal I tend to favor banning players that are obviously toxic such as through chat. Everyone has bad games. Not everyone is a great player. If some dude playing normals goes 1-15 I don't think most of us would vote to ban him unless he said he was inting. That is why you didn't get punished for trolling. Hopefully a red looks at this and brings up the anti since you literally admit to intentionally trolling people.

might be an unpopular opinion but i actually think that having multiple really bad games in a row should put you in a low priority que for the rest of the day. whether you're trying your best or not your still ruining other peoples games. id rather have someone flame me than go 0-5 in the first 10 minutes and literally lose the game by themselves. i can tell you it would certainly make people think about their decisions more.

Game Mode12/3/2017, 4:29:05 PM1 votes

I have had it happen on several occassions that someone intentionally feed and even state it in chat that they just dont care anymore and want to lose the game, but because I say, “that person is just a trash player, ignore him”. I get punished by riots penalty system... complete bs if you ask me...

warpenguin55512/3/2017, 4:35:19 PM1 votes

Because the system can't detect stuff outside the chat worth a damn

Teslyn12/3/2017, 4:50:41 PM1 votes

they want league of legends out of the NA scene and try to remove anyone who actually wants to play the game.

SteelMankind12/3/2017, 5:09:41 PM1 votes

When you are toxic, you are attacking someone personally. You may not get it because you are super secure or something, but a lot of people are vulnerable, and are really hurt and upset when someone is mean to them. And no, being sensitive doesn't make it their fault.

Trolling is difficult to discern from just being bad, which is not a punishable offense

hhaavviikk12/2/2017, 8:07:33 AM1 votes

can't exactly expect riot to go through every intentional feeding report by hand considering this game has millions of players, thought they said 30 million or something last year idk

Noblewind12/2/2017, 11:45:04 AM1 votes

It's easier to auto detect trolling in messaging than definitive trolling in gameplay

Decrendo12/2/2017, 12:14:38 PM1 votes

League needs a system like CS:GO's Overwatch, where the highest level players could review that kind of stuff instead of it being automated imo (Unless it's not automated, making my opinion completely irrelevant).

PePsiLemoNN12/2/2017, 12:15:52 PM1 votes

In your case , I think it's called Karma :^)

ªTeemo12/2/2017, 1:45:54 PM1 votes

cuz flaming someone destroys the game harder than someone inting in your game : ^)

SilentBomber12/2/2017, 2:07:26 PM1 votes

If Riot decides to go aggressive they will lose a fair portion of "money".That was the case for so many years."We don't want to punish players that play AP Pantheon in ranked games" because that will be unfair to those who want to "TEST" various builds.

Master Yi support,Renekton jungle and the list goes on.I just played with an inter who was just going top and was dying by running around enemy's top.I'll be watching his match history to check if he takes any breaks.

In many cases, inters where pardoned by playing without breaks.Even if they were screaming their feed, they would still continue playing without breaks.
