Why is Soraka in the game?

Ever since the preseason hit soraka has been broken beyond all . She is able to single handedly turn a fun game into a nightmare. Your enemies no longer have just 1000 health but instead 2000, and now with the new masteries her heals even give armor and mr, making her even better. You are forced to play the game differently and it just is an aweful experience for everyone on the other team. I have seriously considered dodging every game soraka doesn't get banned b/c she will always be picked and i don't want to play against that bologna. What could riot do to fix soraka, because I honestly don't know.

Why can't you kill her? That's what you would always do before the preseason.

Because no one has any real standing calling Raka OP when she is squishy so focus her and she is worthless. If she builds tanky Raka then her heals are garbage. Her heals only do a lot if she has at least 3 AP items. And if she goes tanky, she has to get at 2-3 items with health to make warmogs worth it.

Like really, people cried and got her Q nerfed and that still isn't enough? Her Q is nearly her auto range at this point. She has no CC at all, her E's bind is never going to land unless you get stunned prior and the silence is more an annoyance than actual cc.

Sheesh, at least when people cry about illaoi, Yasuo, Lee sin I can see where they are coming from since they are annoying, but Raka just makes me laugh so hard. Its on par with people crying about Garen lol...

People just need to get over themselves and understand there is more than just engage supports. The game isn't just Thresh, Nautilus, Blitz. So stop complaining and either get good or keep your mouth shut. Sona is in a crap spot since people cry about her, Janna recently got nerfed, and now Raka got nerfed. At this rate people will be back to square one and crying why Thresh is in everygame.

Soraka doesn't do that well against sustained dmg, whether it'd be burst or steady. She also has issues if her own team has champs that flank or dive directly into a team. I have to admit that if played right, she has one of the most safe laning phases, and cross-map ults are a nightmare to deal with.

for example, I would not pick Soraka into: -Azir -Rengar or Ahri (maybe if I was feeling daring and/or finished my custom runepages for these champions) ...scratch that (coming from someone who consistently picks Sona into Blitzcrank and Thresh) I'd probably pick her into everything

I honestly like playing her (I run an AP/cdr build on her, and rely on landing my Qs to sustain in teamfights) as her kit reminds meh of playing healers in mmorpgs.

That being said, if I'm playing vs a soraka, I'd use someone like Sona, whose shields/heals sustain just as well while offering more dmg or a DPSer like Ryze. (in short, i counter "broken" stuff with other broken stuff).

Though, good heals aren't an alternative to a good team, even if both have large impacts on a game.
