Nerfing Azir?

I'm actually so confused I don't even know what I'll be writing in this article... Riot balance team focusing on balancing the pro play, while ruining the game for the rest of the community which is like heavy majority. And someone will one day stumble upon an Azir main who is actually really good Azir player, but will still lose the game cause even though he is good, he will be playing 44% win rate champion (just so it can be non viable pro play pick???)

I know Riot cares about competitive play, and that is a respectable thing.. But that is far less respectable thing than their disrespect for ranked/normal queue players...

I still can't believe someone had an idea: "Oh let's nerf this 46% win rate champion, it's for pro play so it doesn't matter..." And no, I'm not Azir main by any mean, it's just soo hard to comprehend Riot balance team strategy for their game.. You can literally delete the champion as well, because all you are doing is stopping it from being played in e-sports, while also burying his grave even deeper.. (and it's not dead champion considering it's play rate, but with that laughable win rate, it's also not fun for 4 other players to play with Azir in their team)

Also, don't you say to me win rates do not matter, because Riot themselves are trying to balance champions like Ryze according to their respective win rate.

One more thing.. You can't compare pro play with solo queue. These 2 feel literally like 2 different games. So no, solo queue players can't play Azir same way pro players can (not mechanically, neither can they follow same macro play as pro players), and champion being pick or ban in pro play doesn't say anything about champion being viable in ranked queue, so please, for once Riot, start focusing on balancing an actual game, cause I here feel like i'm actually playing crappy rip-off of an actual game which is what you can call "e-sports League of Legends".

Have you laned against a good azir?

You can't beat him in poke unless you're xerath. You can't outdps him unless you're someone like yasuo. You can't outscale him as anyone. You can't gank him because of his insane mobility. He's a hyperscaling lane bully, which is why he's never allowed to be strong.

Yea sometimes champs with low win rates can still be insanely strong

They usually just have a steeper learning curve

Hell look at braum, he's had a crap win rate for a long time now, but if he's with even a half decent ADC you can absolutely faceroll labe

Eventhough they probably can't, I'm still encountering fair amounts of Azir(good and bad ones) in dia. According to few websites, Azirs pickrate hovers around 5-6% dia+ worldwide(even more in EUW), 4-5% plat+ and 7% in masters. Now it is questionable how it is influenced by players hearing that Azir is good from proplay.

I also want to point out, that after 30 games with Azir, players in plat+ worldwide gets to 52% wr which isn't nearly as bad(few other, arguably op champs after 30 games, Zed 53%, Ahri almost 56%, Riven 53%, Rene 52%(idk what to think about this one), Yas 52%, Ez 49%(probably heavily influenced by his pickrate)).

So yes, nerfs are mainly bcs of proplay, but his reliable scaling with nice poke potential early on makes him really good champ for soloQ players seeking challanging champs to play. Good Azir is huge pain in the ass and it won't really change with current nerfs.

winrate doesn't matter when it comes to Azir/ryze/galio. He isn't someone that should be good enough to be contested in pro play, because that means he's already like 3x times stronger than every other midlaner in the hands of someone competent. Unless riot takes the time and money to make 2 different league of legends, one for pro play and one for norma soloq, there will always be champions like this. He needs to be unplayable because if he was he'd shoot up past janna in ardent meta lul

There's Azir mains in every rank who make the champion broken. Riot needs to balance Azir for those 20 people or else he's just unfair. Sucks for the rest of you but that's the only solution rn until his next rework where they remove his e.
