Will Ranked Solo Queue ever be fair?
C'mon Riot. This entire season has been a joke. I had a fairly good preseason, decent MMR, and was 6-4 in placement this season, yet started out B4. I plowed my way through the ranks to get to Silver promos 3 times, yet every time got stuck with known afkers/ feeders almost every match. After the last Silver promo, I can't win more than 3 out of every 10 even in games when I'm carrying. I've already been demoted back down to B3 and am continuing to slide. I KNOW you make lots of money of Ranked Teams, but why have Solo Queue be intentionally unfair? I find it just a little coincidental that I see lots of great players who not only got placed in Bronze this season despite great preseasons, MMRs, and placement matches; but they cannot get out. They're continuously placed with terrible players game after game. Meanwhile, I constantly look over the ranks and see players who have less than a 40% win rate rocketing up to Silver and beyond. It's very discouraging to have better than a 50% win rate with over 150 wins and be stuck in B3 while people who have 60 wins with less than a 40% win rate jump up to Silver or Gold. I also know you like to tout how the ranks are a pyramid structure. So, even after 5 seasons, you still refuse to acknowledge that realistically they should be more of a diamond shape? That's how you write your matchmaking algorithm? Let crappy players advance unfairly (or through getting boosted, which there is STILL no report category for...) just so you have enough bad players at any given time to tank good player's games? Really? Just to keep your precious ranking structure? This is getting to the point of ridiculousness. Why not widen the LCS to include a random matchmaking (ladder match, random pick, etc.) 5v5 for the best solo queue players in League? Most people can't or won't play with a team for a variety of reasons. Time constraints, the desire for play variety, and so on prevent some people like me from being on a team that can even play on a regular basis, much less advance. Just fess up, Riot. You've screwed with the matchmaker enough so most Solo Queue players will be stuck in Bronze all season, every season, for FIVE seasons now. At the very least you could let people (much like DOTA 2 even though I hate to admit it) advance based on their own merits, not be responsible for or stuck with 4 other people who you will make at least 2-3 of them be bad players to keep the others down once they start to do well.
In short: Stop fucking Solo Queue, change the matchmaker to be SOMEWHAT fair, and open this already fun game up to a wider audience by including more play styles in the public eye.
It's been five seasons too long.
