My MMR doesnt add up

So I am like plus 10 in ranked and have fine stats. Im average for my rank but my mmr does make sense. I gain 13-15 lp per win and lose 23-25 per loss. I dont really think it should be this different. Im gold 5 and get matched with silver 4 and silver 3 but yet im over 50% win. Look me up and tell me what you think...

If you did much duoing with people who have MMR's that differ somewhat from your own, it can throw off what you might expect your MMR to be based on winrate alone.

So for example if you duo with someone who has a lower MMR than you, on average everyone in the game will have a lower than expected MMR than if you solo'd, and hence when you win those games you'll gain less MMR than normal (as after all you're more likely to win them), and if you lose them then you'll lose more MMR than normal. (The reverse is true if you duo with someone with higher mmr than you).

The two people you've recently duo'd with are both somewhat lower MMR than you, so the gains from those victories may not be sufficient to offset the losses from solo losses.

As I see you had a loosing streak with Lucian, so your MMR dropped 2 tiers. You won some games after that, but OP.GG sometimes needs time to process the new data.

Were you silver last season? That might the reason.

Duoing with people can lower it substantially. Ex: If you're gold 5 but are duoing with a Silver 5 and you lose, your MMR drops more than just a bit of LP and this tells the system that you lose vs Silver 5s but are Gold 5, therefore you're higher than you should be. The system then adjusts itself to give less LP for a win and take more LP from a loss until it believes you're in the right spot.

Only way to stop this is to duo with people who are higher MMR than you to get it back to normal, or to go on a massive winning streak. This is why if you care about climbing that you should only duo with people who are equal or higher rank than you because their MMR is more likely to be the same as yours and therefore you won't lose as much on your losses
