I loved Season 5 tank meta the best, because you actually saw way more champs then before. It actually felt more balanced then the current season.

JustMyBassCannon11/29/2015, 9:02:27 AM9 votes

I'm enjoying this preseason, but I'm one of the people used to the chaotic nature of the preseason. Balance is a bit wobbly because of "breaking the foundation for a new structure," and there are new toys and new/reworked champions.

There are things I don't like (mostly regarding the jungle) and there are things I'm using less than optimally, but that's going to happen, and future changes and further experimentation will eventually even things out by the time Season 6 actually starts.

As for my favorite season, I've liked the overall progression from Season 4 to now, so it would probably be Season 5 in this poll. Been playing since before Season 1, and while there were a lot of interesting things in the past, it has, in my opinion, steadily gotten better and more interesting since pre-season 4.

Season 2 forever <3

This season is a bit sketchy for me. I don't like that they removed wards and removed mana potions. Wards were a fundamental part of high elo, whenever they'd be trinket or bought. Bought wards prevented lane camps, and how I usually beat the toxic top laner was by warding his river while warding my midlane and keeping those wards up to prevent loss of control. I feel like the choices they made in the past few months haven't been good choices but when you have a HUGE playerbase it might be difficult to keep people happy. But I shouldn't complain too much; if the game isn't something I don't like I will stop playing. I just miss the old days of season one, two and three.

Mimy11/29/2015, 2:22:22 AM5 votes

Im enjoying season 6 but I miss season 4 a bit.

But ironically the only champion you hD to worry about was yasuo

Today you still perhaps.need.to watch out for yasuo. Haha. Hes not as.op as he is just strong in good hands.

I love the champion updates. But take some of these newer champs back.

Really hype for poppy update.

Actually now that I think about it.

As fun as season 4 was. It would of got boring had it stayed.like that this.long. im glad its.changing. but I hope for more changes that are.more..

Fun

For me, Season 2 was the most fun. It was the season where they started releasing champions quite a lot (balance as bit wonky for a bit) but not too many champs as we have currently now. There was a lot more strategy involved in the game and you weren't punished for doing things outside the meta as hard. Things weren't nerfed as much as they are now so you had a lot more variety of what you could do and build.

This Season sucks. Is everyone on Riots balance team high and drunk?

Adanim11/29/2015, 11:05:15 PM3 votes

Season 5 was the best and most balanced season so far. Patch 5.15 (I believe) was the most balanced the game had ever been. Things went downhill incredibly quickly with the Juggernaut/Fiora patch onward. Pre-6 is the worst I have ever seen the game. Assassin meta during S3 wasn't nearly this bad, because you could at least have a comeback since assassins can't effectively carry on their own. Comebacks are nearly impossible now from what I have experienced and from what my friends have described. I have only played 4 games since 5.22 since I hate Pre-6 so much. Every game is one-sided, and the victors are decided by the 15 minute mark.

ADCs were supposed to get more items to diversify their builds, but we see the same builds every game with the same 3 ADCs dominating. The masteries are a joke since there is only 1 meaningful choice per class in terms of Keystones, minion pushing changes are the dumbest change imaginable because it gives the team that is ahead even more of an advantage (It's no longer "hey, we are ahead, let's keep doing things to keep the advantage we have or we could potentially throw the game").

However, the one thing I hate most was the nerfs to the AP items. Sure, AP characters got more out of their items than AD characters and Tanks did in the early game and mid game, but they were almost out-classed by the time late game rolled around by the auto-attackers since AD scaled so well. The cost increases to AP items was not the greatest choice. Not everything has to be the EXACT SAME in terms of gold-into-power.

Im really loving this season riot just needs to fix some of the problems they opened up such as one-sided games but the one-sidedness is starting to decrease a bit

Hawkefire11/29/2015, 8:54:22 AM2 votes

I wish I was around to experience season 2, as then I would have a much larger understanding of the evolution of the game.

That being said, from what I have heard of it, and based on my own playstyle I would have probably enjoyed season 2 the most (excluding the weird bullshit like cleaver stacking).

Now, since I wasn't around during that time though (and thus cannot give an accurate judgement of what it was like), I would say the best season would be mid-season 5 (before the juggernaut debacle, but after the 4.20 weedwick insanity). In specific, during the period when Magus was still a thing (RIP Magus, why Rito deleted you I will never understand....unless it was done just to screw with ol' fiddles). I honestly think the most champions were viable during that time (and not just viable but quite successful as well). And even the (arguably) unviable champions still had a pretty decent chance during that time period.

AL00011/29/2015, 6:52:37 PM1 votes

its early season 6... but i highly doubt riot will revert everything... their balance system is suck now... no joke...

season 5 is probably the best season i ever play...

season 3 4 moe fakin' life

also didn't like season 6 at the very start (first week) but then got used to it and i actually think its better than season 5

BreadSammich11/29/2015, 9:16:48 PM1 votes

My fav was season four cuz I'm a support main and that was the support rework season. I would say that I enjoy this season a lot too because my lane partners just got stronger along with my supp items 😜

Solari Fortune11/29/2015, 9:24:45 PM1 votes

I am enjoying this pre-season quite well. Granted it is pre season and things are ALWAYS a mess around this time, but it gets better as we get used to things. Plus all these new item paths and stuff. I been loving the Shiv Cannon build on my ADCs. I don't have to worry about getting judged harshly for picking Sona now, Thunderlords adds quite a bit of damage onto my mages. Plus the buff to warrior made Vi even more fun

YuGiHo11/29/2015, 9:37:15 PM1 votes

I liked late season 2 and most of season 3 but i am enjoying this season very much :)

I just wish my favorite champ Evelynn wasn't neecaped again. Pre-rework post nerf eve is better than what we have now.

Puppet33r11/29/2015, 10:44:57 PM1 votes

Season 2 all the way. Tanks were tanking. Carries were carrying late game. Mages had a formidable early-mid game. And assassins were a rare niche only actually skilled players could fill and they would still die in 5v5s after killing their target.

HolyWarsPunish11/30/2015, 12:09:30 PM1 votes

This preseason is the worst in LoL history, games are decided on who got the first kill. Its pathetic.

math crab11/29/2015, 4:35:11 AM1 votes

Season 3 assassin meta was toxic, but I loved it anyway That said, I think S6 will likely be the best one so far, their 'strategic diversity' buzzword is actually starting to look like it could be a thing League is finally starting to look as mature in its design as dota, which is impressive

Dengeden11/29/2015, 12:21:08 PM1 votes

I liked S4, partly because there were OP picks and you just had to deal with it. Partly because I had no idea how to play and new discoveries are fun.

Titanium7011/29/2015, 1:17:55 PM1 votes

Hm.. need two votes! D:

For real I loved Season 2. Than I was new, everything was fresh and every Game felt completely different. ^^ You could play everything everywhere and noone even bothered. That was a super fun time! (Besides the regular Smurfs crushing everything, that was boring)

And Season 5s Meta was great, the Teamfights felt intense and the diversity was amazing! (no coincidence I reached Diamond) Once again, you (basicly) could play everything! Sure some classes where better than others but this changed quiet frequently. (The last Juggernaut Patch was a little over the top though - why we need DMG-Tanks when we're not allowed to get Full-Tanks?).

Mael bro11/29/2015, 2:17:40 PM1 votes

Hard to choose. I started playing in the begining of Season 4. The game obviously had glaring weakneses in champion disparity. But S5 til the juggernaut patch i think was the league of legends at their best in sense that literaly everything was viable and nobody was overpowered. So yeah S5 got my vote.

Messaiga11/29/2015, 3:33:25 PM1 votes

I'd say my favorite time in League was from pre-season 5 to the Fiora patch. Then right afterward we got Juggernauts and much of what we know as balance dissipated. It was really easy to play just about anything in this time period though and be successful with it. Although, I do like where pre-season 6 has taken the game. The early game heavily impacts the outcome of a match unlike before, and if you're smart you can keep your lead and snowball your team. I wouldn't say late-game champions aren't workable in this meta though.

Casri11/29/2015, 4:34:03 PM1 votes

Overall I would say I'm enjoying season 6. The mastery update was a pleasant surprise, I was very skeptical at first, but it seems to have helped some of my favourite champions quite a bit. Although some champions seem to be way better with the masteries than others, which should be dealt with.

The main thing I'm disliking with the preseason is the increased snowball in games, as well as the reduced length. The thing I used to enjoy a lot in previous seasons was the late-game rotations, the vision game, as well as those pivotal game-deciding teamfights, we don't seem to have much of that anymore.

I started playing in Season 3, which seemed to feature a nice mix of mages, assassins, tanks with a lot of pre-rework Nidalee mid as well as AP mage supports becoming popular. Season 4 saw the uprising of Solo Lane Lulu, as well as the Renekton/Shyvana/Mundo/Trundle top lane meta, and the popularization of Morgana support.

I feel I enjoyed previous seasons a bit more because off-meta picks weren't punished as hard. Sure in professional play Season 5 may have been the most diverse when it comes to picks, but I feel in Solo Queue the meta has never been quite so enforced as it was in S5.

okino11/29/2015, 4:36:44 PM1 votes

tbh i think preseason is gonna eventually even out. it may take a week or two, but nerfs and buffs are gonna roll in soon and fix things up. afterall, isn't preseason sort of meant to be a testing ground on new things for the entire community to judge? pbe wouldn't really be efficient enough (imo) since it doesn't seem to have that many players or good enough feedback. they've implemented so many new changes, it's a matter of time before they begin trying to balance it out or make it better.

r u pregrant11/29/2015, 5:30:26 PM1 votes

I just don't like how Riot is trying to implement minigames into the champion reworks. There are other ways to make a character unique. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

Jalkan11/29/2015, 6:05:42 PM1 votes

I want to say Season 2, but... metagolem and FoN. So I'll just go with Season 5.
