Ranked Placements 2016

I'm sure by now most people are aware that in placements for ranked, no matter how you do you're supposed to be placed lower than you were ending the prior season.......so......what im confused about is why and or how someone who ended the season at silver 5..and won 3 games in placements, end up placed in S5....where as i ended the season Gold 5 and won 5 games in placements and...hey Silver 5....theres no balance at all..i was not rewarded at all for my prior performance. I don't really understand how it all works, but if this is a precursor to how the true ranked season will place me...i'm tilted

Hey. So yeah. Have you ever noticed that there's a Solo/Duo rank and ladder and a Flex 5v5 rank and ladder? Maybe THAT has something to do with why it's giving you such unexpected results even when it's obvious

I knew that ranked flex was different than normal ranked and didn't mind being in a lower division. I was gold 1 last season for soloQ, ended up as silver 1 in ranked flex. I won around 7-9 games in a row, got to gold 5, and the past 5 games I've been playing with diamonds. All ranging from diamond 5 to diamond 1, with me being the ONLY gold player. Does that make sense? I'm getting butt fked by the enemy, while my whole team raging about my performance, but am I to be blamed? Complaining about rank division is the least of your worries.
