Matchmaking broken?

I have been placed against high plats for the past few games, and its really frustrating to play and know you are clearly not able to win just because you are against a more skilled player than you. This has happened all of today and some of yesterday. I understand riot balances it with a plat on your team but that happened once and he was literally the most useless player ive ever seen! (Im currently only Gold V so you might understand why i get dumpstered by these people). Can someone please let me know how to not get these shitters in my game?? This is really frustrating and I could really use a pick-me-up... preferably a game where I dont get analed by a higher elo player....
