Teams and Summoner Icons

I was wondering what RIOT and folks thought about a few ideas I had concerning LoL teams and summoner icons.

One thing that I've been wondering about is whether or not ranked play could be diversified a bit. Very few people who play ranked are looking to go pro. Almost all my friends have gold rank as their end goal. Rather than having one giant ladder on which literally everyone is competing for each ranked mode, why not diversify more?

For example, RIOT should have a separate ranked queue for school teams that operates as an online version of what they do for LCS. I know that our team at Yale would benefit from this, as we are going to have to make our tourney with Harvard into a custom game that has literally no bearing on anything. I know that RIOT is looking to make the college scene into its own LAN event, but I think this would be an easy solution for the short term. Students could register by scanning in a copy of their student ID to RIOT and then if multiple teams from the same school register, then they could be tiered by their performance (Varsity, 1st J. Varsity, 2nd J. Varsity, etc.) that appends to their team name in game.

I also think that players should be allowed the option of appending their team info to their username in normals. This would be a good way to passively advertise for your team if you're looking for talent at ANY level of play. This would be an easy tweak for RIOT and really could help the cause of engaging more players to treat LoL as a team game, which it is. Also, I think that ranked teams should have more room for players (it's hard to get 5 ppl online at the same time) but limit it by role- 3 tops, 3 mids, etc. if need be. Any effort to get people to look for a TEAM over solo play is one which I think has merit. We should be encouraging everyone to want to be part of a team of ppl with whom they can develop a relationship.

Finally, RIOT plz!!! Haha. Please allow people to upload 1 custom summoner icon. This would be a way for teams to have a unique identification which would foster further group cohesion. This also could open up a secondary market for graphic designers to engage in the LoL community and would go a long ways in transforming LoL from an e-sport to a cultural phenomenon. The more secondary markets you open, the easier this transition becomes, and I think this is an easy and obvious option for such a development. As for the risk of inappropriate icons, the report function exists for a reason and I'm sure RIOT has the finances necessary to put a basic filter into place like what Nintendo does for the Miiverse.

Thank you for your time! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
