Laning VS A Mundo?

I was wondering how you lane against Mundo. Last game I played against him, he would just get me low with his cleavers. I tried to dodge them but they still hit me. Whenever he was at my tower and I was trying to CS, he would just throw the cleavers at me. If I went in hard on him, he would E and throw cleavers at me. One time when I tried to 1v1 him, I killed him, but he killed me too. His cleavers did about 600 damage when I checked the death recap. When I tried to stand behind my minions to block the cleavers, he would go behind them too and chuck them at me..

Mundo deals magic damage which is the bane of most top laner's. You could try to itemize in a way to deal with magic damage by building MR which you'll find be a tremendous help against Burning Agony and a lesser extent to Infected Cleaver. I'm not saying its going to be build MR=Win of course but it will help you endure the lane if he's putting on heavy pressure and trade without feeling like he always has the upper hand. Also keep in mind that Cleaver is a skill shot that costs health it can be dodged or blocked by minions.

In the early game champions with strong poke also tend to have an easier time against Mundo. Pantheon,Gangplank and well essentially anyone who has poke that won't be obstructed by minions can put out enough counter pressure to beat out an unwary Mundo or even kill him in the early stages of the round.

It really depends on what champion you are playing as against DrMundo . If im Fiora I will rush item 3123 instead of item 3077 . For summoner spells I take summoner 14 when I am planning to try and tower dive or kill him at any point after level 6. If im planning to just go even with him and get ready for late game I will take summoner 12 so I can have the same pressure he will more than likely have.

Assume it will be a farm lane, and focus on outcsing him.

It's very, very hard to kill a mundo in lane post 6. His damage is also quite high for a pure tank.

Start boots for dodging cleavers easily, farm farm farm, always stay behind minions, if you play you can steal 40% of his health mr and armor in fights. Never follow him since he has crazy health regen and often baits you with his cleavers. If you want to grab kills on him take since his crazy regeneration will be cut in half.

As a Riven main (guessing you are as well) , you can punish DrMundo early since he doesn't really have that good of an early game compared to Riven , Renekton , Nidalee , etc. Remember to take summoner 14 with you against DrMundo to negate his R. Start with item 1036 and 3 item 2003 's. Punish him whenever he tries to cs, E to dodge or take his Q's and do you combo properly. When you first back try to get item 3134 to try to penetrate against his armor, and 's and item 2044 to sustain and to see their jungler. When you reach six, you can easily kill him with your R and summoner 14 . Good Luck!
