Fixed vs non fixed camera

I recently hit lvl 30 and have been playing with a fixed camera. When I first started playing I heard that it was better to learn with a non fixed camera so I tried doing that, but when my friend saw me doing this he suggested I switch to fixed as it was one less thing I had to worry about. Since then I've heard various opinions from various sources on the matter offering support for both sides. I recently played a few games as Xerath and learned that with his ult fixed isn't really that viable.

My main question is, what is the general consensus on this issue is it worth learning now or should I postpone learning to play unfixed camera for later. I only played xerath because he's ftp? I know it would probably take some time to get used to playing non fixed should I wait until I'm not pretty much garbage to learn this or the sooner the better?

The earlier you can use unlocked camera, the better.

I play fine with a mixture, to many people say you should do one or the other but they really are missing the greatest idea out there

A: play what suits you better and B: USE BOTH

I generally stick to locked camera but say I see on my minimap a fight top, Ill click the map to get my camera up there and check it out to see if I should ult as ashe or jinx

or I move my camera up ahead unlocked to tp to something or check an area out

I never stick to one, I play with locked camera because in the end knowing where you are is more important than anything (you dont want to be in the middle of csing and then check top and oops the enemy bot lane engaged on me)

As much as I hate to admit it, unfixed is much more advantageous. Why do I hate to admit it? Because I play with a fixed camera. You can do a few things to extend the life of your fixed cam like minimizing the size of the HUD, but it doesn't give you the same advantage as unlocked camera, which would be that most of your vision with fixed camera doesn't help you during certain phases of the game (especially true of the laning phase).
