I Don't Think it's Bad That Wards Automatically Upgrade

Yellow trinkets overall shouldn't have been nerfed. Granted I'm not high ELO and someone who doesn't ward much. But before, the upgraded trinket was always better. Anyone who didn't take it had significantly less vision.

So the question is when would you even not upgrade your trinket? And the answer is never. If it is 100% better to have an upgraded trinket, there is never a reason to not buy it. And people who forget are simply at a disadvantage. It's a fake skill gap to people who never knew there was an upgrade or never bought it when you planned on buying one. (May it be you wanted more potions, you weren't level 9 and forgot or simply didn't have 250 gold on recall.) It makes sense for it to just upgrade on it's own.

People didn't buy many stealth wards may it be the fact that it uses an item slot or that it wasn't seen as cost effective. However, even as one of the people who never warded much, there were many times I'd walk through an area and place a trinket. Having two charges on the trinket without me having to back now lets me place that extra ward more frequently because another one comes back. Only recently did I start to consciously go and buy the upgraded ward and I found myself warding more because I always had those extra charges.

I think Riot was just going for that same kind of thought when they made trinkets upgrade on their own. And with that they didn't want there to be too much vision. Having the map lit all the time makes fog of war pointless and make the warding mini game a necessary chore. With two trinkets as ADC I don't have to use the only trinket I have in a bush the support camps and have the support ward the river. I can now place the bush ward and ward the river as well. Although I'm low ELO, diamond+ is 1% of the game's audience. Lower elo is that 90% and Riot is appealing to their player base, not the pros or top players. This preseason broke a lot of things, but I don't think the trinket upgrading on it's own and an item no one bought being removed were the worst changes.
