Counterargument to Soloque

Recently on the boards it seems that every topic is biased against Dynamic Que. Yes, Dynamic Que needs a lot of work with its matchmaking but I think that the boards community is forgetting just how toxic Solo Que was and will still be. We have all had those games where you get a top lane Fiora that will go 0/8/0 and then afk after flaming the team, or the ones where you get an adc that decides that the team is worthless and that he will prove how godlike he is by dying 1v5 every time. Yes that still happens in Dynamic Que, but when you are playing with other people, it is so much less likely to occur. For all of the solo players out there it must feel absolutely toxic to be dived under your tower by a group of 4, but honestly if they had that coordination in a silver game then they should be higher up on the elo ladder anyway.

Another argument is that Dynamic Que does not show individual skill, and that is actually true to a point. With Dynamic Que coordination is more important than mechanics. The thing is that Soloque does not show individual skill at a low elo either. Winning a 4v5 or carrying 0/8/0 flaming teamates is extraordinarily rare. Your rank in low elo is based off of who gets the better teamates, and on the off chance that it actually is even, then you can show your skills. I may not be the highest rank, or the most skilled player at my rank, but after climbing through bronze into gold that is my two cents on this topic.

Feel free to downvote because this isnt your typical rito please post.

Not all 4 mans are going to be above diamond 5, that's just unrealistic. Most of them are below gold, and most of them are staying below gold. It's just that one poor solo kid is going to be stuck with them for the rest of eternity. It's got all of the original badness of solo-queue on top of being shit for solo players now, "which is obviously why it's the best system in the world and Riot will never change it."

do not confuse new champion select with dynamic queue. solo queue wasn't toxic, it was also unpolished.

if you took out the new champion select thats attached to dynQ you would quickly realize this. especially when the premade isn't all linked one after the other claiming roles left and right.

I agree with some of your points, but this post takes a view that I think is highly problematic in this whole debate: That DQ necessarily introduces more teamwork.

I think that the main problem with Dynamic Queue is that it is most regularly and easily abused not by the immaculate 4 man tower dives that you're describing, but simply by people selecting who they queue with. It's easy to tell when someone is playing above their MMR. You will have access to these better players if you have more friends. Allowing people with large friend lists more opportunities to choose better teammates is quite simply unfair to people who don't have as many friends (of either "IRL" or "online" flavors) to queue with.
