Matchmaking and placement Questions

When I finally reached 30 and had decent set of runes I started playing Ranked. After placements I found myself in Bronze three. As a tanky engage/disengage support I knew my chances of carrying out of Bronze were slim. I have made a few friends along the way who have found themselves hitting high Silver and in a few cases Gold. While I enjoy the challenge Duo Queing with them brings and the skill level that it forces me to strive for when we hit normals, I find it increasingly frustrating when I find myself against Mid Silvers and Golds as well as Bronzers(like myself).

Now, make no mistake I am no Challenger but when I wind up playing one game with a Silver 2 adc and get used to punishing enemy mistakes and having back up and my next ADC is a Bronze 2 guy who can't last hit to literally save their life its a bit frustrating. I am finding myself in a game where a poorly timed back loses a tower then a drag then another tower. Then next game bot lane dies consistently only to never take a tower or a dragon until 20min in.

While I understand that the Matchmaking System is something that is functional I find it odd that the two different systems (Ranking and ELO) can conflict in such a manner. Is there any way a Red could help the Community understand just how a Gold V player is getting matched in Ranked with low Plats one game then smacked with a Silver 4 at the same time? It seems like it is taking a W/L number and just mashing people together until its somewhat close for both teams.

Stop playing normals. Issue solved. I like normals too, it lets you carry games you wouldn't have been able to dream of winning in ranked. But that comes at a cost of getting dominated the same way.

System also balances about odds i believe.

You ALWAYS have a chance at winning, however, some games will have a slim chance while others will just require a somewhat effort.

The slim ones: PUSH your skills out of the 'range' you usually play. You can always win, however, someone on the team MUST lead or give orders in order to "have a chance". But hey, its easier said than done cause: players don't like to be ordered even if the orders would secure victory. Sad but true cause: "you could have won that game". (in this ones, you can increase your MMR rating i believe)

The somewhat effort: The system gave you 2 low Elo (sometimes 3) players that where struggling some games before and mostly losing. And gave you 2 (or 1 highly skilled) other players whose skill is superior to those two before (the strugglers) to compensate the match-up. Meaning, enemies have been in a win streak/winning more than losing and NOW they are being "pushed" to show more skill to win that game. So the roles get inverted, basically. Your enemies are in the "slim chance matchup" while you are in the "somewhat matchup".

Welcome to Elo hell. Improve or die trying!

Cheers.
