Toxicity towards new players...
I've not even reached level 30 and I don't have much experience outside of Soraka and Amumu yet... I'm playing most normals now as the AI seems like it coded rather poorly and don't simulate play against a real team at all.
My little story: I decide I wanna try out the adc role and take Miss Fortune for a whirl, I've played her a few times against bots a while back so I know some basic stuff about her... I get into a game and our support completely leaves the game before minons even spawn and I'm left standing in lane against a Brand & Jinx 2v1... Now our top laner wants to talk crap ALL game about how I'm some terrible player throughout the entirety of the game because I can't win my lane... I then end up dying because I'm getting constant 3v1'd bottom with zero support from any other player on the team and our jungler jumps on the "Our adc is shit" bandwagon...
What I wish I could have done: In all honesty this wouldn't have bothered me if I could simply click their name and block them... Since I'm new I have no idea how to block these people till I get out of the game so I'm forced to sit there for 20minutes seeing "our adc is crap" "this Miss Fortune is the worst player ever" etc etc... Maybe these guys didn't know I was new to adc... Oh wait, they did. I told them before the game even started I'm new to the adc role and they didn't say anything about it then... But after I got into match and couldn't win a stupid 2v1 lane with no support I must be the worst player ever and will never get better...
My thoughts on LoL: Honestly I've found so much more toxicity in LoL then any other online game I have ever played in my life, and I've played quite a few of them... It's one thing to flame a person who did something wrong and should have known better, it is a complete different thing to flame a person who is rather new to the game and doesn't know much about anything yet... Honestly I'm very likely to not play LoL anymore as I'm not invested in it whatsoever, I've spent no money and only invested a few hours of my time... But if there is this much toxicity in the lower end of the spectrum I know it will only get worse the higher I climb as it does any game...
I'm one of those people who invest thousands of hours in games I play, the Guild Wars games for example I have over 9,000 hours across both games (no meme intended) and have spent over $1,000 on their expansions, in game stores, and things of that nature. In WoW I had about 2,000 hours across 4 accounts and didn't mind spending $60 a month in sub fees alone. I was thinking maybe LoL would be my next big time game but the community in general is just so bad it will never happen, I'll be taking my time and money elsewhere...
