Alright support main here have been for quite a long time. Usually if im ap I can take over a game or if im a true support I make my adc an unstoppable force to be reckoned with but recently it just seems i cant depend on my team to do anything anymore. Crap like my adc will dive turrets on their own, jungler will go to every lane and feed, and for mid and top lane the term "just play safe and hug turret" just isnt in their vocabulary to the point where I'll sometimes have to take it upon myself to gank their lanes (yes even top) and even thats not enough to get them on their feet. Now that isnt to say im without my fault there are some games where I feed all to hell and I'll hold the L but honestly at the risk of soundin arrogant that rarely happens and most of the time the loss comes from my team crumbling while I struggle to hold them together.

Anyway sob story out the way I just need tips on carrying be it "cheesy champs" or just stupid strategies you use that seem to work out when you need to strap the team to your back. My hopes for carrying from the support role is pretty much all but demolished, it can be pretty debilitating to your moral when you shut down two people and try to roam with your lead and you look up and like see an enemy zed 6/0/0 or some stupid situation like that :P

What about blitzcrank support? Just land a hook every 2 minutes and hook the enemy mid laner in teamfights , hook the enemy jungler when securing baron/dragon. If you can play other roles, try xin zhao. Don't die early, camp top and mid. Get 1st turret on the top side and then get rift herald to push mid lane. Ignore the bottom side unless the enemy adc sucks early, for example vayne or twitch. If you want a champion for carrying even if your team sucks, I recommend riven. (PS: Don't flame me for saying that) Once you learn her combos and master them (Usually only takes a small loan of 45 hours), you solo carry yourself to high gold, then you start playing team reliant champions, since in high gold you can trust your team.

My only tip for playing support, in the nicest way I know how to say it:

Buy a fucking sightstone.

As a support, the best thing you can probably do to help your team win, is figure out who on your team is going to be able to carry the game, and then make sure to be near them as much as possible post-laning phase. Maybe that's your now 4/0 ADC that you crushed lane with, maybe it's your mid laner, maybe your top or jg, doesn't matter who, what matters is that you figure out who it's gonna be, and then support their actions the best you know how to do. (e.g. suppose jg is the fed person who looks to be the one that will carry you; they are hanging bot side jg, dragon is coming up in about a minute. What should you do? Some things to consider: Ward river area with Sightstone and sweep dragon pit area. Take/help them take Rift Scuttler on that side (as much to deny the enemy it as to ensure you get vision/MS AoE from it). Help get bot and mid lanes pushing so that the enemy feels inclined to go to their lanes and shove them back, rather than investigating river area/roaming and happening upon dragon when you're trying to take it. etc.)

maybe put more wards down from time to time to get more information so you can catch people out on rotations because it looks to me like your macro play is complete dogshit. You're just banking on the games devolving into ARAMs and winning via dice-roll teamfights.

I personally tend to play AP supports if I have a run of bad teammates.

My unintentional one trick has been Brand since he can pretty much solo win teamfights by proc'ing his passive on multiple people and offers a little bit of what your team might need (CC, wave clear, AP, tank shredding, burst). I've had games as Brand where I had Rylia's, Eye, Redemption, and Locket and some how still did the most damage in the game.

Another good one to try is Vel'Koz for a similar reason as Brand. If you proc his passive and ult, you do true damage to that person. Means even if you have no damage items, you'll still do a ton of damage.

The other way to go is to play overly protective supports. Playing Lulu, Janna , or Soraka can make it incredibly hard for that 6/0 Zed to kill your teammate. Granted, you're really relying on the people you are protecting to carry, which means if they aren't great, then you don't really have anyone to carry.
