Loose LP because people left ingame

I recently played a ranked game. After maybe 5 minutes our support and adc left. Do you all think that it's fair to loose LP efter we played a game 3 VS 5. I want to know riots opinion on that. Is it really fair? It got me pretty tilted that i lost 18 LP because two players left the game.
