Why isn't Lux banned more?
I've been playing her recently, and she seems to have everything a mid lane made wants except a gap closer (Ori doesn't have one either, though). Pretty safe with Heal, and also does insane amounts of damage post 6.

No point banning if nobody plays her....
Maybe because her skills are all skillshots and are really easy to dodge
Skill shots can miss has reasonable mana costs compared to resources Kat and Yasuo fragile low mobility
-She is pretty much a more utility focused version of Vel'koz hell they even both have lasers as their ultimate.
In an assassin favouring meta like season 4 low mobility mages like Lux, Vel'koz, Anivia etc. just fall out of favour
Ori is still popular because of her shield and mobility from her W, the same goes for Ahri and the other popular mages of season 4.

Yep, it's all about mobility mid because of assassins. Hell it's all about mobility everywhere. If you ever find yourself wondering why an immobile champion isn't played more just remember that they are immobile and you probably have your answer. Not to say all immobile champs are completely non-competitive, but they are almost entirely unpopular versus their mobile counterparts (with a few exceptions like Ryze). People love mobility in this game.
She isn't in a bad spot, but no one plays her enough/well enough to warrant banning her.
