New Champ Select WOES

So. You're sitting there, just finished up a win with a great friend. You've got a little bit of a win streak going, and you decide to do another duo. After getting through all of the shiny parts of the new champ select, it comes time to select your champion. You've already PRE-SELECTED, so you're good right? WRONG. Missed pick, counts as dodge, 5 minutes ban. Minor inconvenience.

You wait 5 minutes, and so does your friend. No big deal right? You queue again. Same shiny champ select, same pre-selection..... freeze frame for a second. Remember in the old champion select you could "pick" a champion, and when your timer was over, no matter what you did, you had that champion. No risk of getting banned because you didn't "lock." Now, what about the small grace period for those last second picks? That was there too, right?

Now, back to champ select. Okay, let's see, timer started, time to pick my jungler! Should I go Lee Sin or..wait! Yes! Tryndamere! Okay! I still have time! Selects Tryndamere I'm good! Wrong. Banned for 30 minutes. Didn't hit the lock button after searching frivolously for that champion.

After I came back from that ban, and joined my friends for a 5 grp ranked match, the same thing happened again. I raged. Riot, please get rid of the "lock your champion" button that is so stupid. And, would also add the grace period, pretty please??
