Not a QQ thread about provisionals, just looking for some advice approaching them

I promised myself that this season I'd actually finish my provisionals come hell or high water just to see where about I'd get placed for ranked, but I'm starting to wonder if that was perhaps a New Year's resolution better left unfinished like so many gym memberships. Things seem to be going about as well for people this season as the 6 of my own matches I played last season went, so I'm wondering if it's even worth the effort to try and play them now.

Playing provisional matches for the very first time is much more forgiving than trying to do them after a soft reset.

Basically, winning 4-5 of your matches will place you in high bronze or low silver.

Approach them like you would any other game. Pick a champion you are familiar with (not necessarily a counter pick). Play to the best of you ability. And most importantly, stay calm and optimistic; no game is lost until the nexus explodes.

I did my provisionals at the end of last season just to see if I could get silver for a border. I went 3-7 and got Silver V...who knew. However, if it's your first time...I would honestly wait several weeks so that the divisions flush themselves out. Currently tons of people are winding up in bronze and silver where they were a full division + higher previously. Wait until Diamond, Master, and Challenger finish filling up in a few weeks and things return to a normal composition.

Though if you don't honestly care...feel free to jump in...just don't go in with inflated expectations, be positive, and most of all just try to have fun. Don't be one of those people that treat ranked like a job or anything other than what it's supposed to be...enjoyment. That...and if you ever lose three games in a row...walk away. Don't keep going through the struggle. Take a break, play some normals, or just do something else. You may not feel you're on tilt...but chances are you're at least subconsciously letting the losses wear you down.
