A new player's perspective

I finally hit lvl 30 and have played unranked only, been abused and whatnot by the smurfs all the way up to lvl 30, and now unranked appears to be more of the same. What real incentive is there to even play this game ? I've taken time off away from the game repeatedly, but when I come back there's no real satisfaction in winning or losing. It's luck of the draw that my team gets the higher ranked players over the other team's... there's no real counterplay when you're a bunch of unranked/b5 ranked vs. high bronze/silvers. Where is this game going to get fun, or even interesting? The best I can say about my teammates so far is that about 4 of them were decent enough not to flame/curse me. That isn't saying much, honestly. Smurfs have ruined this game for me and many others, but I really don't think anyone cares. The saddest thing to me is that I genuinely like to play support, but teammates/adc's I get are horribly critical and make me not want to even support them. Can anyone tell me/show me that there is a possibility of a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not scared of trying ranked, but I'm afraid that the types of players there are going to absolutely ruin the tiny sliver of interest I have in this (potentially) awesome game. Having games where 2-3 teammates account for 75% of the deaths on our team is horrid and tiresome. This seems to be the way of the league these days. summoner 3

First of all, I must disappoint you. Not much is going to change in ranked comparing to normals, and not much will be different from what you've experienced already. People will still flame when they look for a scapegoat, people will still feed their asses off and still complain about your gameplay when theirs is in no way better. This used to be, is, and will keep happening.

The part which will change is you. I'm a secondary support (recently gone mid/support), and I must say the joy of the game to me started coming to me after I started taking pride from a job well done. Your teammates will probably not even notice your work as it does not amount to your kills (unlike in mid, which is partially why I like mid more now). Sometimes you will lose by default just because others will be useless. However, take pride in that good hook, good Morg bind, a dodged skillshot or an avoided gank. All of the bad things that could've happened if you did not prevent them, be proud it was YOU who prevented them.

Look at what you do - be critical, you WILL make mistakes sometimes, learn from them - and enjoy the good plays you create. The better you get (mostly comes with experience to be honest), the better things you'll be able to accomplish. You're new now, you probably can't do much. So, cherish the good, work on the bad and take pride in what you're doing.

If some random teammate starts flaming, mute him and carry on - as long as you don't see any truth in his worlds, that is. There was a period of time when I would /mute all at the start of the game. It helped me a lot to concentrate on the game. Try that. Hell, to be honest, I think I would prefer to start the game without chat all the time. Pings are more than enough. But then again, it's my personal opinion. See what works for you.

Finally, good luck. If you can't see any joy in League, seriously, drop it. Just like with any game. You will probably not become a pro. Neither will I. There is no point to struggle if you don't get any enjoyment from the process itself.

Your attitude it what makes games not fun lol.. Stop caring so much and focus on getting yourself better instead of complaining about everything. You're in a low elo now focus on getting yourself better play more champions and focus on getting yourself better. I have all champs and this game is too much fun. Why do you think it's the most popular game in the world right now?
