champion mastery ratings.

Can someone please explain to me how the hell this rating system works? I just had a game where i was 9-2-3 with 173 minions as Riven 2nd time playing her and the first time i was absolute trash yet i only got an A+... wtf do i have to do to get an S rank? I mean i have all these damn keys but no damn boxes to use them on.
