[PSA] You all talk about buffing your favorite champion but....

Covert Ops Gnar·6/2/2016, 6:38:03 AM·1 votes·282 views

I don't want my niche champion to be buffed, then everybody wants to play him just because he's OP. Everybody would ban him or say you're bad because you play said champion.

I just started maining Gnar after I mained Yasuo and Braum for a while. I love Gnar. Gnar has a 47% win rate with a 3% pick rate, yet I personally have a 87% win rate through 70 games (Low plat [for now]). http://imgur.com/oBE9WNb Gnar, statistically speaking, is weaker than most champions in the game since he does have a lower win rate, but I click him with. I love his mechanical inclination, his character, and his play-style. I like how I'm able to play my champion without having to deal with other people wanting to play the same thing as me just because of his current game-state.

Champions need to be more like this in balancing standards. They need to be in a place where they are not strong unless used by somebody who plays them allot or the player has a niche for the champ. You should not be able to play First Game Fizz or First game pre-nerf Malz and go 20-2-0. You should be picking up a champion and be like "Hey, that's pretty good" even if you go 5-4, then practice playing with that mindset. Not "well Zed's really OP right now so I have to play him and get Freelo" then next week "Gotta Blast with these new buffs on Vel'Koz".

That's just my input on balancing. Nothing should be used or played just because of the game-state of the champions, items, and/or masteries and should be balanced accordingly. In short: you shouldn't want to play a champion unless you_ like the champion_, not it's game power.
