Karma PBE - Analysis and suggested Changes

Hello Summoners and Riot Members :),

I thought about the Karma Karma changes on the PBE. I already posted my first impression on them, now I want to share some more Feedback. Since many already explained why these changes will effect Karma's Sololaning, I will skip this part. I know Riot does not seem to like Champions which such high versality, I guess thats why they are** removing **most of Karma's Damage components. But this is just the wrong way. Karma representises Versatility, she even say "I have seen two Paths and make another one Between" (which also refers to her Background). (seems like changes for Karma are quite tentative) . .

**Gathering Fire (Passive) **

CD Refund on spell hit increased to 2/2.5/3 at levels 1/7/13 from 2 at all levels CD Refund on Basic Attack still at 50% of spell hit value

Since they removed the Damage Component from her Mantra E, Q becomes pretty much the only thing Worth being Mantrad. Why? **Mantra E **offered up to 5 Procs of her Passive (=10 Seconds) and was great for using in Teamfights. Now Karma is "punished" by using it since it offers no Passive-Procs. The Procs of her W remains the same (6 Seconds). (Also it was a core playstyle of old Karma and it hurts a bit to see it now gone, but New Karma is not so much like old Karma anyway...) So why I should use Mantra E now? It offers no Passive-Procs and if I use it I have to wait up to 10 Seconds more in a Teamfight to have a Mantra again (same for Mantra W). I am not saying its never good to use Mantra E or W but you wont get extra Procs of your Passive, which is quite... bad. The increased Numbers of her Passive even make this worse, giving even more reasons only to use Mantra Q. I think Karma shouldnt be punished for using Mantra E (or W), but if the Damage Component would stay on her Mantrad E, it would be (more) OP with the changes.

**Focused Resolve (W) **

Can now target monsters in addition to champions **Renewal (Mantra + W) ** Removed Damage Component Now increases the Root Duration by 0,75/ 1,00/ 1,25/ 1,50 Seconds

So she will loose the damage in exchange for a longer root? This would make her more relying on external damage sources.

**Inspire (E) **

Cooldown reduced to 10/9/8/7/6 from 10 seconds at all ranks Mana Cost lowered to 60/65/70/75/80 from 60/70/80/90/100 Shield amount lowered to 80/110/140/170/200 from 80/120/160/200/240

I think those changes are not so bad. The shield is weaker but you can have it more often and I always felt its more about dodging the damage then tanking it with this shield. ** Defiance (Mantra + E) **

No longer deals damage Now increases target's shield by 30/90/150/210 (+.3 AP) Aoe Shield amount is now 50% of primary target's shield amount from 30/70/110/150

For the no Damage Part see also [Passive] Gathering Fire. If you compare Karma's Mantra E now with the changes you will notice that only 2 things changed: The damage is gone for the extra Shield of her primary target. The AOE Shield will "just" receive a (small) buff of +10% AP scaling. In Order to justify, this Primary target shield has to be higher (at early levels). I really like that the "bonus" shield now is given to the primary target. In fact, a Mantrad E now has more shield than old Karmas E (eventhough this one needs to be Mantrad). A Mantrad shield on yourself now geants you a 450 (+80% AP) Shield on maximum Level. **About the baits **here: Its a bit.... difficult since you have to put in some Pionts in your shield as well. The Aoe Shield now scales in the Points you invested in Inspire [E], meaning the base amount is roughly 50/50 from the rank in your [E] and the Rank in your [R]. But I like this Shield. Really I do. . .

**Should be changed: Gathering Fire (Passive) **

CD Refund on spell hit 2 Seconds for Damaging enemy Champions or shielding ally Champions (this would mean the Passive does not Proc if Karma shields herself) CD Refund on Basic Attack at 50% of spell hit value

**Defiance (Mantra + E) **

No longer deals damage Now increases target's shield by 30/90/150/210 (+.3 AP) ---> 50/ 105/ 160/ 215 (+0.3 AP) Aoe Shield amount is now 50% of primary target's shield amount from 30/70/110/150

So at the End of the Day Karma lost a lot of Damage in exchange for a longer Mantra'd Root a bit higher AOE Shield and a higher single Target Shield. And if they dont change the considered changes for her Passive... she will be pressured in [Mantra Q]s.

I rather would like to see the changes like this. Those changes are useful for every Role, but specially increases her Supporting Potential. . .

Can be casted on Monsters Also grants Karma and allied Champions 8% of their Damage done to the bounded or rooted Target as Health.

[E] +Mantra: Renewal

[Reworked] All enemy Champions around the Target within a ~300-Range are rooted for 0.5/ 0.6/ 0.7/ 0.8 Seconds, if the primary Target is rooted and suffer 30/ 60/ 90/ 120 (+30% AP) magic Damage. (The "Sustain" can also proc on every Target rooted.)

       **[E] Inspire**

Karma shields a target ally for** 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200** (+ 50% AP) for 4 seconds and grants them 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds. _Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 _ _Mana Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 _

[E] + Mantra: Defiance

Increases Inspire's shield by 30 / 70 / 110 / 150 (+ 30% AP). Additionally, allied champions are granted half of Value of Inspire's Shield for 4 Seconds and a 60% bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds. Enemys within the Effect suffers 60 / 140 / 220 / 300 (+ 60% AP) Magic Damage.

Ty for bringing attention to my main, Karma. They are nerfing a completely balanced champion hard. I wish Riot would leave her alone
