This change is so useless and unnecessary that made me mad. I had this name for 6 fucking years and i don't want to be changed. Now there is some amount of people who say "stop crying kid, it's just a username" okay fuck you.
I just don't understand the need to make a global service when only a small percentage of players would ever move to different regions to play the game, like pro players, and not everyone is going to want to play Riots other games either. I highly doubt even 1% of players are going to play their account in multiple regions so the entire thing is pointless. **They should let us use the same username when logging in for league of legends and a different username or our email for their global service/other games. ** All they've done is inconvenience and piss off a ton of long term players by taking our names that aren't even being used now that we've been forced to change them, its so fucking dumb.
I have multiple accounts, it's going to be real fucking annoying to memorize new usernames for 7 different accounts.
It's not a username even, it's the account name you log in with. Nobody but you knows what it is. I want them to fix this up too, but let's not get unnecessarily heated.

This topic sucks. If you think it's a garbage game, then why are you even playing it and why would you care about what the hell your username is? Furthermore why should Riot or anyone else care if you quit?
I am really opposed to the change as well but this topic is straight garbage and undermines legitimate complaints about this issue. Like get over yourself or get lost.

Seems a bit extreme, but I didn't have the issues others are and knowing how attached players can be to their names, especially if they have special meaning, or have been held onto for years and often across many games/sites I can empathize, particularly if you only have 1 or your main is affected.

No, you're right. You're feelings are just and I share the same. I too had to change my username and I feel like I lost out on a huge part of me that made logging onto league of legends well have nostalgia glasses. It reminded me of how fun league was in the past and how immature and accepting I was. Now I just call out the next thing plaguing league.
Yup, I didn't even leave when I was chat restricted (I love smack talk), but I'm not ditching my name. Don't ask to change, you do the work on your part, or Ill move over to greener fields.
