With all these updates and changes, Opinions if League can turn into a new World of Warcraft?

So I quit Wow in cataclysm, came back in Warlords of Dreanor and was SUPER confussed and SAD, because EVERYTHING was different, starting from questing and the map, to the character models themselves.

So now Lol is updating all these champions, Im wondering if in a while, will there be any champion with the same spells/playstyle as they had on release. I still remember the old meta, and how fun it was. I understand that it is changing, but before it was changed by players and lcs, now it seems riot is in control.

Thank god my love Talon is under the radar :P

Also Riot too seems to be starting to annoy people in the same way, ie. lean towards the 'Screw the game, we want your money' kinda ideal/care about lcs more than community, and feedback ect.. (Just my thoughts, im a huge lcs fan, so dont hate :P)

Thoughts? #Nostalgia FTW

I've already stated my extreme hatred of the direction League is going multiple times, frequently associating the new Riot with modern Blizzard, using this preseason / early season 6 as Riot's Cataclysm - Blizzard's biggest mistake in terms of WoW since it was all downhill from there progressively getting worse over time with no sign of improvement.

Everything coming from design to the hypocritical liars in balance point to a company devoted to promoting the spectator event, and pushing their newly acquired sports legitimacy until it falls off of a cliff.

For a player-focused company, they're becoming notoriously awful at accepting feedback and admitting they're wrong when something blows up with the intent to fix it. Instead, broken bullshit is left infecting the idea of healthy gameplay, toxic mechanics are constantly being introduced with the thought of "we want to avoid creating frustration" still echoing in my head, and completely healthy and balanced aspects are changed for the sake of change.

Now we see that "season 6 is going in the right direction", and that this dynamic horseshit is apparently the future of League. If it's anything to go by thus far, I'd say it's fitting to say so considering how quickly and how hard it failed. I stand by what I said before the preseason launched; this will be the worst state of the game League has ever seen, and it will all be downhill from here - just like WoW when Cataclysm was unleashed upon the undeserving playerbase that used to trust Blizzard...

Please understand that I don't hate Riot. I hate the direction League is going in, I hate how much we're blatantly lied to and scoffed at when we call them out on it with no real arguments to prove us wrong, I hate the favoritsm, and I hate the stubborn egos of certain devs, but I truly want to see League grow. I'm just scared is all. You're on the same exact path Blizzard was on a few years back. The devs lost interest in taking player feedback and continued to pat themselves on the back regardless of how angry the playerbase was, and the design and balance departments only cared about raiding and not only intentionally alienated the PvPers, but did nothing to help the state of toxicity in the class imbalance.

Please Riot, you're so close to them it's sickening. I don't know where I'm going to run off to when you go full-Blizz because this was the game I went to when I fled WoW since at the time of my arrival (around Draven's release) I saw a large, happy community with a dedicated, player-focused set of developers...where did they go, and why don't the new ones care?

I don't have the same feeling towards League as I have towards WoW. Yes, this game is changing and evolving. However... you are kinda comparing two games from completely different genres. WoW is an RPG with a bigger focus on exploring the lore of the world it is in. LoL is a MOBA with a bigger focus on competitive gameplay by nature.

Is Riot starting to focus more on the E-Sports? I would say yes, but they are not forgetting the people that play for fun. If they wanted to shut this game out to just the hardcore competitive players then they would go along the same lines as DOTA 2. In the very early stages of the game they had the creep denial but removed it because it did not feel fun for them. They could put it back into the game and remove the summoner spells, becoming an almost carbon copy of it's cousin. They do not though because if the community wanted that they would play DOTA. Also they make events for the players like URF and the Poro king. They give the players something odd and fun to have that may have taken them more hours of coding than they may have put towards something like balancing a champion so it is competitive.

Riot is trying to balance between the casuals and the professionals and imo they get too much flak from the community. I would honestly like to see some of the more vocal members of this community to try to make a free game as successful as this game lol.

You realize that the community created the meta right.

I had the same experience with Everquest.

Old EQ ftw.

Yeah I feel like Riot has run out of ideas some time ago and they just change things that worked and didn't need touching The most common problem is reworking champions that don't need it. Trundle, Olaf (who remembers how super strong old viking was?), Sona (totally useless now) and my broken heart - Caitlyn were totally ok while for example Taric is meh.

Second thing is totally changing que in direction I (and I guess many other) don't approve (and it was already bombarded by pro players). Instead of normal ful solo q draft with locking role after selecting champion, they gave us dynamic proven to not work queue merged with team builder which is awful idea in strategy games
