Ranked matchmaking, and defining individual players based off of a 5v5 game mode.
Just wanted to start off by saying I'm new to posting on forums, so forgive me if I make any mistakes or whatever. I'm hoping this gets a ton of attention and feedback, I'd honestly be so happy if i see this post get popular and see tons of people talking about it. So lets get started I guess. League is a great game, it's incredibly fun, competitive and it rewards people with deeper thinking other then point and click, there are some annoying champion mechanics sure, but nothing that is game breaking. I only really see one issue with league, and that's it's matchmaking system, i'm gonna go in depth, really in depth actually, but just to get a quick TL;DR Leagues matchmaking system is defining individual players "rank" based off of the out come of a 5v5 game mode. So lets start off with what determines your rank, it's not your cs, it's not anything to do with you as a player, you can have no kills, 50 deaths, 0 assists, and still win a ranked game, why? Because league is a 5v5 game mode, meaning if one player plays bad, it doesn't matter too much, but the more players that are performing poorly, the less of a chance you have of winning a game. Leagues ranking system is based off of one thing, and thats how many games you win or lose, the more games you win, the more lp you get, the less games you win, the less lp you get, which would be fine, if there wasn't 4 other players that were also taken into effect, lets create an example, let's say you are playing a hard carry, top tier, top laner, like

now lets say your bottom lane isn't performing well, doesn't mean they're bad, they could just be having a bad game, whatever, if that lane gets "fed" there are only a limited amount of solutions, you make a tp play, or your mid lane/ jungler gank, well, what if your mid laner refues to gank? what if your mid laner is losing lane? do you gank mid to help her? do you tp bot to help them? I am talking about what I can do, ME, as an individual player, because there is no saying if your jungler will gank. I want to win games because i played well, not because i won the game, I can't count how many times I've won games that i did not deserve to win, i simply got carried. And when a player decides to play poppy jungle, and goes 0-16-0, constantly invading the enemy jungle with no vision, you can't tell me with a straight face that poppy is around my skill level. When i play ranked i want a competitive, serious game. so when i look at my match history and see that my adc has less cs, less vision score, and is building less effective items against the enemy adc, i start to wonder what the game is doing. The outcome of a game doesn't prove the skill level of an individual player, it proves the skill of the team, I don't want to lose lp, because of things that aren't in my control. The most common thing a person will tell you, is you need to carry the game yourself, which is very good advice, but it isn't something you can do every single game, there are many factors the go in effect, if you are playing a champion that is heavily countered, by the enemy, you can still carry sure, but if you are being camped by the enemy jungler, while playing a champion that is heavily countered, you aren't going to get anything done, especially if the enemy laner is playing extremely safe, if you are playing an immobile champion, against a mobile champion, and they are constantly playing safe and not making mistakes, it's nearly impossible to get a pick. I'm curious to see why the game puts me with players with their entire match history being defeats, some players having 3 games won, 16 lost. while the enemy team has players with most of the games won, i don't think thats how it should be, then again im not a game coder, i just think it would make sense to put players against other players with relative win rates, Like i said, it's not always possible to carry a game by yourself. so if every lane, other then my lane, is triple, sometimes quadtruple negative, it's kind of hard to carry a game, especially when my enemy laner is playing so safe, that i can't get a pick, i mean i guess i can just cs really well, but the other fed lanes would still be stronger then me because they have cs AND kill gold. I have taken hours out of my day to look at my match history, and go in depth, enemy gold income, versus mine, enemy vision score, enemy kills, the enemy team always seems to have more stats then my team does, correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't it be around the same values? because this is ranked, you should be matching players of equal skill level with eachother. so if my mid lane goes 3-13, with 130 cs, and the enemy mid laner is 16-1 with over 200 cs, not only that, but if my mid laner is getting solo killed at level 4, i think it's a matchmaking issue at that point, especially when i look at my mid laners match history and see that he is a jungle main, who is on a 8 game losing streak, against a fizz main, with over 200,000 mastery, who has won 12 out of the 20 games he has played. I put my heart and soul into this game, i watch professional players, i look at the wiki, i look at the most useless stats of champions, mana regen, everything, i have runes, i have mechanics, i always have the highest vision score, it upsets me that i lose some games because of other players, I want to be in control of my own rank, i don't want other players to be in control of my rank, its a fact, if there are 4 players playing poorly, with 1 player playing better, the 4 players playing poorly will determine if the game is won or not. show me one video on the entire internet of somebody solo carrying a game, and when i say solo carry, i mean doing everything him self, it's not possible, you can't. There has been times where i go 1-3-28 and do nothing, and win the game, because i got a team mate that knows what he is doing.
