Thoughts I've seen on Azir in my ranked games.

Just a moment ago our first pick banned Azir, and we ask why. He says he's not banning him because he's afraid they'll pick him, he doesn't want us to pick him. And it's true. His Passive is very meh considering it went from 2% to 1.5 to 1.25. Late game is just okay. His average kda is literally the worst ive seen on any champs release. Opinions? It feels like everyone can just walk away from azir even late game.

His average kda is literally the worst ive seen on any champs release.

People said similar things about Orianna, Jayce, Elise, Lucian, and Lee Sin when those champions came out. Lucian in particularly was widely regarded as awful and out-classed by all other marksman by the community for at least a month after his release.

Generally speaking LoL King shows newly released champions within the 3 worst win-rates for a solid month after their release as well. Diana and Zyra are the last champions I remember that shot up to ~55% upon their release, otherwise even release Lucian and Elise, stronger than they are now, where not doing to hot.

Champions in LoL generally take a long time to master, especially when you consider Elo isn't based on the champion you pick, but your account overall. Mastering champions is only about ~5% knowing what their kit does - the other 95% is knowing exactly how that measures up against a wide range of opponents, what time periods you can push your kit to the max, what times you're at a disadvantage, what champions you can overwhelm, what champions will overwhelm you.

Free gold is never 'meh.'

Give people time to figure him out. He's an odd champ.

of the 2 games i played him i absolutely dominated. ( nvm, 3, played an ascension which i did well in)

idk, i find him pretty strong. people just need to get used to him.

but banning him in ranked is fine tbh since noone has him mastered .

I REALLY like him though, he is like, well, you have to play like an adc, and stay super far back, and use your soldiers as melee adcs.

i played top azir vs ryze and dominated, then azir vs zed mid and dominated, so i dunoo. maybe he isnt good vs some matches, but he is certainly good vs low ranged/melee champs.

I've been playing Azir since PBE and I have already obtained a strong grasp on his kit. To really make himself useful in teamfights, Azir needs to have CDR boots, Nashor's Tooth and Rylai's Crystal Scepter. Tear of the Goddess is also useful due to the amount of mana you might expend. Those three items are without a doubt mandatory on Azir if you wish to perform well. Most Azir players don't build these from what I see so they fall behind early.

I think they overdid the passive nerfs a little... Without giving him any base attack speed, he pretty much has to get nashor's or he can't utilize his AAs worth a damn.
