Hey Rito,

I've been playing for about 5 years. I literally only know the goings on of the support role, but I keep being told that I'd make a good jungler with my map awareness and empathizing with teammates. I've only played jung a few times because I keep getting flamed by my teammates who expect more out of a jung. I really feel like it's my fault for not understanding jungle. I wanna jung but I keep getting flamed by teammates when I really try my best. Is the best solution just to mute my teammates? I feel like it's not because communication is key to me.

If you empathize with your teammates, stay support. If you want to build thick skin and empathize for yourself, play jungle.

Seriously though, jungle gets so much hate because a lot of people who play poorly want to have someone else to blame for their poor play. It's not a good enemy, it's not them being bad, it must be that jungled was not waiting to countergank for their clearly overextended badness.

I find the best thing to do for me personally is just ignore them. If someone starts flaming me, you can narrow your focus to 2 lanes, or you can add 7th jungle camp that gets delivered near said flamer.

I'd do two things:

Get someone who's a gold+ jungle main to help you and get good pathing and ganks.
Realize that jungle isn't purely ganking. Try playing for objectives and farming and maybe try playing a hard carry/selfish characters to try to become more fluent in the jungle.

You'll get flak for not helping your lanes and you'll get flak for being counter jungled without help. It's really fun when you get good at it though. I used to be... not anymore :(

You need to understand that many times that your team criticizes you, there was nothing you could have done to help them. There's probably nothing wrong with your jungling.

In fact, support players make very good junglers, even when playing support champs.

Karma Leona Morgana Pyke Zyra are all extremely viable junglers. Just rush boots on them with move speed runes so you can get to lanes faster, and they make for extremely pliable champs for that role.
