Some tips to get out of silver

Hullo guys, Just made my 3rd account on 3 different servers reach gold. (I must admit NA was the hardest since it took me half a year, and others took like 3 weeks.)

A lot of the things im going to post is the general know-hows of playing mid in the laning phase and some really obvious stuff. I would like to share these really basic instructions because I find a lot of the people in silver dont know about it , or worse- thinks they are boss enough to ignore it. Some of the sections can really deeply change the impression you are holding towards this game, thus changing your playstyle and granting you a big lead. (And some...which you knew would make you very salty in a match because you realise what is going on with your match.) ** Laning **

No. 1: Buy your potions.

And you thought your teammates not buying wards was a problem. Quite surprisingly, a lot of players do not understand consequences of not buying potions in silver. (Surprising eh? Well its that bad.) Some dare to even go with no pots after backing, thinking that their enemy wont see what they bought. They buy less potions than their enemy and get their head smashed in by the pure power of being simply outsustained with the cheap price of 150g. Buy potions, use them and maintain that health to not get cheesed. Use them while battling the enemy and make sure to not waste a single one before you back up. Be efficient.

Also another tip relating to this section and the next, is not to hang around with low health in lane attempting to "bait" the enemy while waiting for a gank. Do not do this. Especially if you are going solo and have no verbal contact with your jungler. he ~~might ~~ will arrive 3 mins later. This is very unconventional, since the player who is doing this fun operation is not only endangering himself, but also risking himself of denying precious CS. If you suspect this obvious tactic, slam your pink on one side and push that yellow on the other side and proceed to the next section of this post to outzone the enemy and leech him of cs. OR, just dive him with your jungler.

No. 2: If you are not roaming, do not push the lane and zone the enemy.

Generally if you are not malzahar or playing commander donger, pushing creates more opportunities for the enemy and endangers you in the end, especially if the enemy is able to farm under his tower. For example, in top lane I see a lot of darius players thinking it is killing two with one stone by using Q on minions and the enemy champion, while it **is CLEARLY stated in almost every decent darius guide to hit as less minions as possible during laning, **because you will get ganked easy. Another minus point is that it is like two times more harder to kill the enemy in their tower rather than in the open lane.

Say you traded your enemy and proved who is boss, then you need to lower your lane line and then isolate the enemy from taking cs by standing in front of your minions. This is zoning. This move alone will drain the enemy of his CS, and his EXP. If the enemy is foolish enough to come close or even dares to push. Gain a kill or even better- order a gank from your jungler and pin him down.

No.3: Be aware where your jungler is and where he will be heading so you can rendezvous faster.

Very important stuff which can reflect aggresive how you can play in lane. Stay close to your jungler, and be vigilant. If you are playing mid, slightly edge towards the brush of where your jungler is generally located so if you get ganked, he can cover you. Save him when he accidently met a kindred near red. Junglers and mids are basically like the duo on bot. Act in tandem.

Basics ** No.1: Dodge.** A big trend in silver, is that they hope to get carried by some "diamond smurf" in pick phase. They knew it was coming, they know the pick is obviously a bad idea and the do not dodge. Because they hope some smurf is playing so he can carry with that odd pick. Korean lee sins in NA!? In SILVER!? WTF? Dodge it.

I learnt it the hard way by tilting to silver 1 promos straight into bronze 1 this season by going adc Jhin. Check what crawled out of the bunghole. http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Craft%20Zeppelin

How on earth did this happen? well... one thing for sure refuse to play with a lux support on my next account to gold. https://www.champion.gg/champion/Lux/Support

"Hey but Lux support works if the person playing her is good!" I will stay cold. Trust nobody. Assure yourself there is nobody in silver who is diamond who can carry with bad picks, and close the client. Especially if that champion is notorious for not building sightstone.

Small note: dodging matches with a lee sin or yasuo on your side, really makes climbing easier if you are in silver. Mute them. dodge them with absolute prejudice. The possibilities they will feed, complain, AFK or even outright report you for no reason is hillariously high.

No.2: Get a duo if you dont care about the solo que fiasco. Ok, Im not saying to get a diamond to boost you the hell out. Use the rules to your advantage. Nobody gives a damn if you are against premades if you go solo. NOBODY. The only thing that matters is climbing. If you end silver, you will just end as the butt of everybodys joke. Forget about your pride if you really want to achieve your goal. Besides, going duo and making good calls can really change the tide of battle. Ping baron with your buddy and everybody will be meeting up there.

The tip is, NOT TO TELL YOUR ALLIES THAT YOU ARE DUO. They will think it is common sense to gather up with you.
