I was gonna main support.
But I have to hold off on that until I get to plat because apparently supports are always to blame and never to be recognized in high silver.

who plays to be told they are good. That is some ego feeding bullshit. LOL. Just do it and get your experience in or else those who have BEEN maining support with shit on you and your adc.
Some advice if you want to play the support role and be able to carry bad teammates.
Pick mage supports like

They can carry from the support role due to their cheap item build paths and high base damages. While still having enough utility to remain relavent throughout the game.
Champions like
are bad for climbing unless your extremely good with them, since they are more team reliant and have very minimal solo carry potential.
Last bit of advice, mute your team and use pings to talk. If you actually listen to them raging at you, it will most likely put you on tilt and frustrate you.
More often than not I'm hailed as a god for my Aqua Prisons. Make the plays and they will notice.
Be the carry that your teammates refuse to be.
I understand when people say "Carry your team" but that's hard as a support, even as good scaling mages, because if your ADC is bad (e.g. doesn't go in when you basically give him free kills on a Silver V platter, or when they front line eVEN THOUGH YOUR THE TANK I SWEAR TO GOD CAITLYN IF YOU DON-), and sometimes when my ADC dies, the enemy bot lane will try to dive me, and I'll get a kill, then get blamed for getting a kill and not giving it to an ADC that hadn't even respawned yet. Now, I'm not saying it's impossible to carry as a support, I've went 15/0/23 as Leona, having the most kills. Why? Because the ADC was bad, I recognized this, and decided to go for more of a fighter build (I do not recommend, I only got lucky), but honestly, if you want to win a game, you're going to need some synergy, with everyone. Communication, constructive criticism (That doesn't mean to be mean, it means to tell someone what they did wrong, how they could do better, and maybe how to make it up. Make sure they know you're not trying to be passive-aggressive though.), and lastly, listening skills.
Good luck in ranked!
