Even after 5 years playing this game I am awful.

Idk why I'm so bad. I thought that I had gotten better, but I suppose not.

I don't see how playing under tower is a good strat. I always get out csed and ganked snd dived and get killed.

I CS, I get ganked.

I ward, even tho I see them I'm too slow to escape, or if I do, I get dived and killed anyways.

When going up against AD champions like Zed, I can even stack armor and still get 3 shot, not being able to catch them because everyone and thier Mom has dashes and mobility these days.

I've been playing for 5 years, and on my main, Bronze is all I know. I'm like the Bane of Bronze.

People tell me not to push, but how is purposely missing CS and not taking towers good?

I'm told to play under tower, but why is it I'm dived and killed and they dash out with a free kill because I played under said tower?

I've tried playing other Champions than Mord, but I am so much worse at them. I cant land skillshots to save my life.

I made this account to reset my MMR, but I guess I'm still super bad, and idk how to fix it. I CS more than I used to, and have become ward happy.

Any advice would be great.

My playstyle is CS your ass off, out item and gold the opponent, and shove down towers and objectives like a boss. Ward when you go deep and back when you have a good amount of gold.

Learn to dodge and predict, those are big skills to have as a mid laner, know the champion you are playing and playing against. Know what each wants to accomplish in lane, know when they spike at what items/levels, know when to go aggro and play safe.

Know the strengths and weaknesses of the jungler, know about when they'd want to gank and from where. Mini map awareness is important, tracking the jungler from the start of the game can help you predict where they should be on the map, pay attention to what scuttle your jungler takes and assume they should of gotten the other. Play to the opposite side of the lane the jungler is playing on.

Don't let the last game get in your head, each new game is a fresh start, don't be scared of the match up you're in, even if unfavorable. Don't get scared when you see a Zed ult you, stay calm, use your internal clock to predict when he comes out of his ult (he'll show up behind you) and use your CC, or you can often flash if needed as soon as he pops out, if you flash then do so in a diagonal line.

I used to play scared a lot, because I played with friends who were often higher rank then me, so I would often play vs higher ranked people. They told me it didn't matter if I fed, but I have to start playing more aggressively or I won't ever get better because playing scared every game is just going to make you worse. admittedly right now I suck, I'm massively inconsistent, but what I've noticed is my lane phase isn't actually awful, a lot of my deaths attribute to bad decisions and not because I get outskilled in lane, but as my rust starts to fall off and I get my touch back, those decisions should fix themselves. After I got used to being a more rounded player who could play most match ups because I've played most mid laners a fair amount of time in 6 years to know what to do when, I learned how to be a laner who could play aggro, defensive, or controlling.

Honestly, that was a ton of rambling, I'm sorry lol, like I said I'm still getting back into League after a few month break, but if you'd like we could do some practice 1v1s and I could give you my opinion/advice, although I'm no League God, but I'm generally not awful.

Step 1, buy jax, step 2 learn to jungle farm, there you go. No skillshots, you're a tank with crazy mobility and burst. It's statistically impossible to be bad at jax.

League is designed to change over and over again, invalidating any skills you’ve picked up along the way. The skill you had last season is worthless. It’s a manipulative Tencent strategy meant to keep you hopelessly addicted and productive (spending money). Riot is a sell out company.... The creators made the game and bounced as soon as they had their money. Play a different game that will respect the knowledge you’ve gained along the way.

I've been playing since 09 and I've gotten worse.

I think a lot of it is just getting older. Any game knowledge I've picked up is rather hampered by the whole pushing 40 thing (I'll be 39 in Feb QQ.) The death of strategy and the increase on twitch reaction requirements isn't helping much either.

I actually started playing league as something to do while doing the whole "stay at home dad" thing. Now my oldest plays (Bot games only mind you, no way in hell I'd let you little shits around her. No offense.) She really loves Lulu for some reason. I think it's the giant head. It's funny because I've watched her dodge crap I'd know for a fact I'd eat to the face. Mind you she doesn't much seem to care about winning lol.

Learn a meta champion

Your a mid lane Morde I see. Annie might be a better mid for you. she does have skillshots but pretty much all of them are hitscan with almost no cast or travel time.

Going off your playstyle you sound like you might do better as a Top or ADC.

For top id say Garen Volibear Jax Tryndamere MonkeyKing Nasus and possibly Yorick if you want to do something rare. Skillshots on Yorick need to be ok. Jax and Trynd are less forgiving for mistakes. Garren and voli are pretty straightforward but your going to hate life in counter pick situations because their kits are dam simple.

Tristana makes for a good farm till spiked champion. Only W is a skillshot but your mostly using it to not die so shouldn't be to hard.

Honestly if you are not good, how are you having fun? You should consider whether or not you are a burden to most teams you are put on. But if you plan on sticking with it, just learn everything. All the champs, all their skills, every potential chain cc, what different jungles are looking for, all your lane matchups so you know what trades to avoid and pursue, and know where you fit into every comp if you fit at all. Mechanics mean little if you don't know how to apply them.

Honestly in silver it's not that much better, and honestly probably even harder. After spending all of S8 in S5-S4, I can pretty confidently say that there's a lot of players in Bronze 1 that are much better than the players in low silver.

People say that "if you can't carry yourself out than you deserve to be there", and I think that's complete BS. 100%. With how many people rage quit, afk, troll, etc, its a miracle if you can gain even 50 lp in a day. I don't doubt that if you put a plat+ player in bronze and silver that they would stomp, but the amount of people in plat+ are a tiny percentage of the overall player base, and expecting everyone to be able to carry themself out is just insanity.

I will also say the decision - making in silver is so strange. I've never seen so many teams run into the enemy team 1 by 1 and not realize why we aren't winning.

If you want to get out of bronze at least, I would say learn Karthus in and out. I've been playing him long before he was meta, and if you can farm well and not feed, I think he's among a small handful of champs that can take over a game simply because the other team has no idea what to do. Good luck!

You don't improve by just playing, at least not beyond a certain point. You need to learn actively by watching guides (I recommend Skill Capped Challenger LoL Guides on Youtube), analyzing your own games, practicing certain mechanics in the practice tool etc.

Some people are just not good at certain things. The highest I have ever climbed is Silver 2 since Season 3. I took a 3 year hiatus after season 4.
