The system of chests and keys could be better.

I only really play four champs, and I like the four champs that I play. So much so, that I'm not really interested in playing other champs. And playing a brand new champ against people who are playing their mains is a train wreck, so I stick to my four.

Unfortunately the system for chests punishes players like me who only want to play a handful of champs that they like, and the system for keys rewards players for a completely different thing; receiving honors from your teammates.

So here I am with no chests and seven keys thinking, "well, this doesn't make any sense at all. Why would the game only give chests to players that can't make up their minds, but throw keys out like candy." I guess all I'm wondering is why would Riot put in a system for obtaining chests that make such little sense. Other ways might be; win 5 games, get an S three times, complete a series of quests/missions like, "destroy an enemy tower" that would take several games to complete. The list goes on, and the current system seams odd. I just don't get it. Any chance this will get addressed?

The system is there to encourage you to buy and play new champs.

If yuo don't like it, that's cool but remember your complaining about earning FREE stuff that @Riot doesn't have to give you...

Because it's free shit. You don't have a leg to stand on to complain when you barely play any champions.

Also it's not that people who play lots of champions "can't make up their minds". How the hell do do get that result?

You don't need to get honours to get keys, honours just help you level up your honour level. As long as you're honour level 2 or higher, all you need to do is play games and you'll get fragments (based on amount of games played, up to max of 12/month), even if never honoured.

As for chests, you can get those while playing off-main champs without being good at them if you premade with someone who gets an S.

That said though, chests give random champ shards, and random skins. The former is useless to a one(-four) trick, and the latter is exceedingly unlikely to be for one of the specific few champs you happen to play (and may have bought skins for directly anyway), so the rewards you're missing out on, are the ones you don't really need.

Why do you even need boxes if you only play the same 4 champions? The chances of getting loot for them is astronomically low.

i play a bunch of random champs so my mastery ranks are all pretty mid ranged. when i get chests though for whatever reason i keep getting summoner icons and wards. i used to get skins, but now i dont. kind of annoying if i'm being quite honest.

I have the completely opposite problem. I have been sitting on three chests ever since the new system was introduced. Whenever I get enough fragments to open one I get another chest as I don't main any champ. To me the key drops seem significantly lower than they were beforehand, certainly not like candy. Improvements can be made to even it out, but since after all it is free stuff so I can't complain.
