Normally you would use that combo in a duel but the wave is pushed so far up it's frozen just outside Fizz's tower, you're lucky you didn't get ganked trying to farm so overextended. You used Q to damage the wave instead of last hitting or even poking Fizz down further, forcing him to recall.. You went up to AA a minion and Fizz pounced.
Fizz had both summs, you had none. He has bonus true dmg with ignite in the 1v1. You got hit by his arcane comet and his E (2 dodgeable abilities), despite using your E to try to dodge it (barely clipped ya). You know he wants to be in melee range so he can AA then W after 2 seconds, should've drop a W at the beginning, because you never got the W/passive damage off, Fizz flashed that and avoided damage. If you were able to proc your electrocute, you would at least have had a return kill.
So if you were able to W earlier during Fizz's E, he would have to decide to either land on you (and your dagger), where both of you are taking 70 damage, or back off, with both of you not receiving 70 damage. If he lands on your W and you E+AA, there's your electrocute proc. But a better way to play is to use the MS from W to dodge his E. Bait his E into one direction away from your minions, then E to your dagger/minions to dodge it. the EWQE combo is best when you are chasing but since you were getting initiated on, probably should've used W first. Remember, your Q lands behind your target, that EWQE would've landed you right in this turret.
It's better for you to know how to manage minion wave. Had the wave crashed closer to your own tower, you would've been able to execute your normal combo. Only AA to last hit if you want to slow push or freeze the wave. If you keep AA or using abilities to damage his wave, his minions will die faster and your wave will push. If you fail to push fast enough to get the wave completely under his tower, he's in a safe spot to farm while you are not.
