Sion's ult and deaf players

Sion's ult has a global sound warning, which is impossible to detect for deaf players. I can't think of any other ability that only relies on audio cues like it. A droneing Sion ding is pretty obvious to normal players, but people like my brother mostly just have no warning about it. Any reason there isn't just a global visual debuff or something similar?

Personally I don't think the sound is even needed. Instead of a visual change I say the audio cue should be removed for a while and see how it effects the game.

Have some sort of notification pop up over enemy team's champions not unlike when you're alerted by stealthed champions like Eve or Rengar ult. Maybe a skull or something. Everyone knows gets that Eye of Sauron thingy when Twisted Fate used his ult. so we know this can work.

Perhaps there should be a growing audio and visual as Sion gets closer, instead of a flat audio cue. The main problem with this would be that it would give away where Sion is and where he is coming from. On the other hand, it would be cooler than what's on live.

Rito.. What about Deaf Dumb and Blind Players? You should supply us all with warning gerbils that emply an intricate shoulder tap system to warn us of everything we can't see or hear while playing leeg.

I personally hate the global notification on his ult. Just get rid of it.

On the one hand, I see no reason for there to be a global visual debuff to accompany the visual cue.

On the other hand, I think that the ability is readable enough that if Sion uses his ult, even if there wasn't an audio cue, you would still have enough time to react to Sion if he comes to your lane with his ultimate to dodge it, even if there wasn't an audio cue.

Before Rito implement anything of the sort, you can still make do by pinging your brother.

When blind people play league, they can't see the map and champions! Oh, no, what should we do? Make league a sound based game now? But then how will deaf people play? OH NO OMG -complain- -complain-

OPTIONAL visual cue is reasonable. I like hearing the Sion ult globally. Its a weapon itself.

I'm happy the teams might change from blue vs purple to blue vs red, which if your color blind......it looks like blue vs another blue.

When I first saw this, I thought you were going to complain about stupid people who didn't know Sion was ulting.

There are a lot of audio cues people can miss out on, like firing a skillshot into a bush (zed, yas, etc.)

I play with sounds off cause i listen to music and i STILL never got hit by a Sion ult, it's so easy to dodge even if you have like a second chance to react

Axests11/3/2014, 5:10:07 PM1 votes

you can argue for it all you want guys fact is deaf players have a disadvantage because of this. I don't see why we can't have a small visual cue for it, and trust me, knowing sion is ulting somewhere can make a difference from getting back to your tower and having to start running while overextended

For those of us who do play, its obvious when he ults and where he is coming... For those less fortunate than us I think perhaps a ping on the map when he ults might solve that.

Warding would have to be the way to go for now, probably. Dunno what Riot would do besides copying the Nocturne ult effects
