Gold analysis: Similar ults
I like to do comparisons of items and such to figure out how they stack up against each other, and here I'll be focusing on Renekton's and Nasus' ultimate abilities. They're quite similar and some of the only ones where gold efficiency can actually be calculated easily.
Since all the flat numbers are available on the wiki, here I'll give you the effective stats and translation to gold amount.
Effective Health -- Health including resistances. Gold was calculated from this since Nasus gains both armor and magic resist, and the wiki only gives a formula for mixed defense relative to a damage source. I did not include the increase per second for Nasus' resistances because that would be a really long table.

|500 = 1333g| 608 = 1620g|
|750 = 2000g| 930 = 2479g|
In addition, Nasus gains 50% CDR on his Q, so that's an extra 1333g tacked onto the value of his ultimate.

He also gains twice the auto attack range as Renekton, though there's no gold value for attack range.
The only areas where Renekton's outclasses Nasus' are in cost-- that would subtract 140g from Nasus' while leaving Renekton's unchanged-- and the AoE damage which doesn't scale.
Keep in mind that both ultimate abilities are on the same cooldown and have the same duration.
Conclusion Despite the previous case of having Nasus gain less health from his ultimate than his brother due to the intent that he build more defense, since the most recent defensive buff Nasus now gains 95+ to 170+ more effective health, not adding the fact he also gains additional resistances per second. Adding the fact his main damage tool gains 50% CDR during the duration, Nasus gains triple to double (based on rank) the stat-gold amounts of Renekton. This, along with Nasus's infinitely scaling +35g per stack Q makes it quite clear why Renekton falls off late game while his brother only becomes stronger.
