RIOT, can we get a statement on the overbearing presence of ADCs?

The boards right now are teeming with threads about how OP either ADCS (namely twitch and trist, but they're only a symptom of the ADC cancer tbh) or the supports that follow them (namely Janna) are.

I'd love to hear a RIOT response to how totally overbearing, overpowered, and overplayed ADCs are. Why do they NEED to be in every game? Why do they need to 2 shot from 500-900 range? Do you think it's healthy?

In my personal salt-powered opinion, ADCs are the primary reason this game CAN'T be balanced. Simply put, every other class and every AD item has to have ADCs in mind. I mean, isn't it silly that a whole ROLE (not class, ROLE, 1/5 of all SR queues!) is devoted solely to making them even stronger? Or that a LARGE majority of their damage comes from just pressing their AS steroid and right clicking?

Anyway I'm kinda rambling, just always really hated the ADC role. But I'd love to hear an official RIOT response on why they are the way they are.

Of course, they won't answer. They already did ADC update and if you remember instead of balancing them, we had 4 ADCs and 1 support every game until heavy nerfs hit Graves, Kindred, Quinn etc.

NA boards are teeming with marksmen hate threads all the time, kind of no wonder that RIOT doesn't bother aswering them anymore.

Marksmen are mandatory, because they are the only class that offers healthy gameplay in duo lane, because early in the game they have little to no burst and CC.

This game needs a duo lane, because there are 3 lanes + jungle but 5 players, so markmen will be mandatory until RIOT finds good alternative.

ADCs are the cancer of this game. Items getting nerfed because they abuse them. Riot doesn't give a shit about nerfing items due to ADCs and forgetting all about their intended users.

First of all ADCs need nerfs to their early game and 1v1 potential. They spike with a BF sword. They also solo tanks, assassins, bruisers and the likes. I actually don't even engage on ADCs anymore because they will right click on me 2-3 times and I'm dead.

On top of it all we literally have teams at LCS with the only damage dealer being an ADC. That should tell you something about how busted this class really is. 2-3 tanks to face tank for the ADC, and 1-2 support-style champs to be their butt buddies and boost their damage to even more insane levels. On top of that you have a shit ton of ADCs with mobility, survability, untargetability and the list goes on. Draven is essentially a drain tank with item 3812. Xayah is pure cancer and not a viable target in team fights. You try to touch her and she pops untargetability. You chase her down - you get stunned. Twitch - meet the best and only ranged AoE assassin in the game. Get ready to watch your team get melted from across the map in 2 seconds.

~~Support items ~~ - The support role is **LITERALLY **made to buff ADCs only. You can't go melee carry bot, you can't go mage bot etc. etc. ADCs are the only viable MAIN carries in this game, and that is a HUGE problem and a balancing issue.

LITERALLY EVERY CLASS REWORK NERFED EVERYONE TO THE GROUND (NOT ADCS DOE LOL) AND NOW WE HAVE A META WHERE COMPS ARE ENTIRELY BUILT AROUND ADCS BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE GOT NERFED. YET PEOPLE ON THE BOARDS ARE CRYING FOR MORE ORIANNA, SYNDRA AND JANNA NERFS. LMAO.

How would anyone even know if they were mandatory or not? When is the last time you saw a strategy without one?

I have seen people play mage-mage lanes and bruiser-support lanes and succeed but very rarely do I see anything besides marksman-something else bot.

And "Banned every game"? She's not even in the Top 30 most banned champions. Your is a very bias and not very realistic post.

Of course I'll now get down voted into oblivion because The Boards (for the most part) aren't really a place for objective thinking, rather the place to jump onto hate trains against flavor of the month, so those of us who are dedicated to a champion regardless of their popularity have to take stuff like this.

You all complain that it's adc meta. Come on, what's wrong with it? Already missing getting oneshotted by zed every game or bashed into the ground by 4 unkillable tanks?

It's not true, unfortunately. The reason why this game can't be balance is because of items.

If League was like in Dota where ''everything is op so everything is balance'' kind of mindset, items would be okay.

But here, items are powerspike and obligation (meaning poor variety depending on the meta). Some champions are balance around items (and now keystone), there even champions that had their playstyle completely changed by items like tank Ekko or bruiser Fizz.

Do you really expect a game, a game with over a hundred character with a ton of items to choose, to be balance? Remember that every time that Riot buff/nerf/rework/add a new item, there's a high chance that someone will beat the crap out of every one else.

So no, this game will never be balance as long as items (and now keystones) exist, and we all know items are going nowhere.

That's because of the objectives in this game. Towers, Dragons and Baron are all weak to DPS.

I have a weird theory that Riot make their game based on some thing of RPG or MMORPG. Like enchanters being exactly like the supports in those game.

And just like in those games, you need at least one person tanking, one person doing DPS as far as possible from the monster and sometimes a support (of course sometimes Baron melts if you have too many Mountain Drags).

And guess which class is a safe DPS? The ADC of course.

Yes, slayers or skirmishers are DPS but they are not as safe as an ADC. And most mages are burst and tied with cd (Yes Ziggs can destroy tower but any dmg class can kill towers easely once they get a few items).

its funny how tables turned, before it was : "adc in 2017 lul!" and now adc is considered strongest role in game. I guess we will never have balanced game...sad
