Riots take on champion design and how it should be
Whats interesting about champion design is that it falls into two different categories.
- Usually you have a champion that is given a kit that is meant to succeed in a certain role or lane, for example:

- However sometimes you are given a kit that is simply based around an idea of what the champion should be, for example:
- Flora is just a duelist. She was not designed specifically for top, mid, jungle, support, she was just designed to play and feel like a duelist.
- Gangplank was designed in similar fashion with no emphasis on lane or role, but really on the way he plays and feels to play, a barrel shooting pirate.
Neither of these champs really fit the meta by definition, but they where meant to play the way they where designed to be.
I think this design philosophy is interesting because if you play these champs you have to make them work in a certain role even though their kits are different from what the meta dictates should fill that certain role. Yet they still work.
This is just my two cents but im hoping for more champs like these in the future.
*Quick note I am not talking about how the champion plays in regards to lore, simply on the idea of a champion bieng a duelest or a pirate or a small powerful yordle with a big hammer :P
